Sounds reasonable to me. Like mentioned above maybe just make it mandatory and a known process when booking. Should eliminate any "hurt feelings".

To answer the question in the topic line. My thought is courtesy and gentlemanly is the same now days as it has always been.

I think that what Laci suggested should be common sense.
My personal thought is to add be a man and own it if you get caught. Last I checked providers don't find us..
