Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) The Ranch's other activity of animal rescue was mentioned recently. It would seem that the authorities cannot stand anything that is associated with "our" community. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife people have shut down Squirrel Creek Wildlife Rescue. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_29756044/littleton-wildlife-rescue-claims-state-agency-shut-it http://www.9news.com/news/state-shuts-down-wildlife-rescue-tied-to-swingers-club/129838988 Signature Edited April 13, 2016 by Johnboy#1
Posted April 16, 2016 Government thugs shutting down a great wildlife rescue doing a great public service. Department of Wildlife killed a lot of animals being helped at this beautiful facility. Squirrel Creek hired 2 vet techs to treat the animals. Our tax dollars paid to kill wildlife. Petition protesting this raid blowing up. Over 6000 signatures since yesterday. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/local/US/CO/
Posted April 17, 2016 Um while I love wildlife and the Wild Life, didn't they SELF REPORT about 150 instances of improper procedures/animal abuse? This is in the Denver Post, correct me if I'm wrong please.
Posted April 17, 2016 The Department of Wildlife alleges there were 150 self reported violations but does not say what these are. Their over reaction was to raid and shut down Squrirel Creek and kill dozens of animals without any due process. As shown on the 9news clip Squirrel Creek was a very professionally operated facility. Kendall really cares about the animals and is not your typical hoarder. Many of the alleged violations involved holding onto animals too long to be sure they could be released into the wild. I know a raccoon with distemper I took there was given good care to make him comfortable before he died. The baby squirrel I took there is now probably dead at the hands of the government. 20,000 new signatures on the petition yesterday. ( yes online petitions are lame but can be effective in bringing attention to local government overreach like this.) http://www.thepetitionsite.com/local/US/CO/
Posted April 17, 2016 I took the self-report comment to mean that instead of falsifying mandatory reports on retention rates, etc. they admitted to violations of the codes for such facilities.
