This is bs, don't comply. Hot.com has been using my brand for free for two years, and in that two years, I've received one or two clients from there. Outside of that, out of pure principle, this is just plain wrong. If none of us pay, they'll reevaluate their business model. That's all, hope you're having a nice holiday.

Solicitation: I Need Suggestions on Marketing TO Providers
TheOlderGentleman posted a topic in • General-Discussions...
In cooperation with a Denver-area provider, we are starting a business to provide services like transportation and call screening to providers in Colorado. One obstacle we're hitting is the difficulty of marketing to providers - lots of places to market to clients, but not so many for the ladies themselves. We have done some limited experiments with texting ads to text-friendly providers. That's had a little bit of success but the format is awkward and the amount of information you can meaningfully text is very limited, leading to a lot of confused people. Does anyone have suggestions on how we can get our pitch out there in a non-annoying-everyone, non-obtrusive way? My partner jokingly suggests booking a session with each provider in town, and giving them a business card at the end. That would be a lot of fun, but also very expensive - looking for something that doesn't require me to be a millionaire. Thanks in advance for any insight, ideas, or constructive criticisms.- 4 replies
