Posted September 4, 2015 Cliff notes. The state of Washington's Supreme Court ruled in favor of three unmentionables who sued BackPage claiming they were sold via Backpage. The decision was 6-3 and decided that Communications Decency Act doesn't apply to BP. The lawsuit against BP claims that they actually give instruction and coaching on how to post ads as "pimps". The decision wasn't unanimous and the Justice writing for the dissent says the lawsuit should be dismissed because pimps wrote the ads and not Backpage and Congress gave immunity to "interactive service providers" but not for "content providers"In short it's BS. I know that there is some general disdain for BP but this really is crap and hopefully they come out on top.
Posted September 4, 2015 I never see or read about any of us fighting for our rights. Something I always notice, people who are against us are protesting. It's all over twitter. Check out Mistress Matisse, Maggie McNeil, Whorephobia, EscortingAdvice. ESPLERP. There was the whole recent Amnesty International taking the stance to decriminalize, BP is fighting hard for their rights which is by extension fighting for us. There is also Tits and Sass, SWOP, Red Umbrella Project. It's all over it just a matter of actually looking for it.
