Posted February 24, 2014 I'm actually amazed by the recommendations and input of the tob community! I agree. It is refreshing to see more positive input and help, rather than beating down and chastising someone
Posted February 24, 2014 I agree. It is refreshing to see more positive input and help, rather than beating down and chastising someone Addicts tend not to respond to pleasantness very well. As I've mentioned, "hitting bottom" meaning a psychological punch in the face, is usually what wakes them up. I also said that addicts LOVE what they do and that's correct, that's why they do it. So, unless they get an ugly wakeup call, they'll just continue complaining, saying they want to quit, but won't. We do what we believe in. If a person needs to stop their addiction, they need the "tough love" or "stern concern" as they used to say in Philly.

Posted February 24, 2014 i give in to sin because i have to make this life livable. Love that song, and it's true. Some people need to "abuse" whatever substance because their lives are boring, lack adventure, etc. You may not overtly like it, but you like it, or you wouldn't do it.
