L.A. condom law has porn stars blowing town

let my people come . . . bareback . . . in Vegas, which apparently is happy about the prospect of becoming a cinematic latex free zone - suck it silicon valley.

plus, what a great brand extension for sin city - a legal sex related industry one block off the strip. one irony is that town (and state) probably leads the U.S. in per-capita consumption of boner bags.

Good for them, make the move. California sucks in the first place, second, the government needs to keep it's hypocritical nose out everyone's business. It's a legalized business, let them be.

It's amazing to me that it hasn't been challenged.

Legally, porn is a "artform" which is why it's not prostitution, even though it is. But, the law sees it as art, so porn is a performance art, and I don't see how a law can be made to make artists wear or do a certain thing.

interesting point, Dwell,

so following the logic here, does that mean if you film a session with your smart phone, you and your castmate become performers and therefore, the act becomes performance art and therefore legal, the exchange of money notwithstanding?

hmmm

I've been curious about that but haven't researched the laws.

I'll bet though that you need some kind of license to film in order to claim you're a pornographer. That would be an amusing thing to get if I'm right.
