Posted July 9, 2013 Are there any organized "charitable" or "non-profit" groups active in our area, whose purpose is to help escorts with various problems, such as health, safety, legal, even leaving the profession, that any lady here can recommend? Perhaps obviously, I'm not asking for myself , but I may have met (or may meet in future) ladies who would find this info useful. PM if you want, although I think public reply would be good if you are comfortable posting the org name / contact info on the board.

Posted July 9, 2013 Hope your not trying to play captain save a hoe? It probably won't work out for ys. I was thinking the same thing. Not that there's any harm in providing the name of an org -- but only if she asks for it. If you go any farther than that, you are begging for trouble.

There's also a church in Lakewood, Bear Valley Church, who's teamed up with the FBI's Innocence Lost Task Force of Bastards (the ones responsible for most of the busts in the area including last month's stings) that appears to have taken a vested interest in sex worker outreach. They have a meeting labeled "Stand Against Trafficking". Not sure what it's all about but there is contact info listed so maybe your friend can call and get the resources she needs. There's not a lot out there but if she put the power of google on it, she may come up with something.

Posted July 10, 2013 Hi Lovely, Thank you for the info. The SWOP appears to be the type of org I was looking for: "We are a grassroots organization that provides peer support and advocates for the human and labor rights of sex workers ..." I'm more doubtful about your other suggestion: There's also a church in Lakewood, Bear Valley Church, who's teamed up with the FBI's Innocence Lost Task Force of Bastards (the ones responsible for most of the busts in the area including last month's stings) I don't think that's the type of "help" most ladies would want (to say the least).

You asked for resources and I put the power of Google on it...don't shoot the googler.

Umm, , I thought that getting busted wouldn't be considered helpful by ladies such as yourself. But what do I know? It could lead to free room and board in government housing.
Posted July 12, 2013 Oh, on your question about my experience as a working girl - no such luck, but I hear there's some good opportunities in the "chick with a kick stand" category

The FBI busts people; the church works with the community. In all seriousness, if the gal wanted help she would google something herself.
