Posted September 23, 2015 Thread posting 101 When starting a thread or posting to a thread; The Standard Text Editor will be displayed, allowing one to include some formatting such as bold text / italic text / & underlined text Changing Fonts and Size of text, from their [drop down menu] Adding emoticons Inserting images by clicking on the [ Insert other media] Selecting [ Insert image from URL] enter full URL for an image ending of course with either (gif, jpeg, jpe, jpe, jpg, png, bmp) Once you start a thread or posting a reply ,You can add a link from the editor by clicking on this insert link icon - the image Properties page will appear. copy and paste your full URL You can Quote a member which would be preferable if your post is meant as a reply to a particular post. AnD use the Multi-Quote if replying to more than one posting member within the thread. When editing a quote to reply to a portion of a members post you should be able to use various options such as highlighting sections then delete or use the backspace to delete. You can use the Text Color [drop down] to highlight aspects of a post to bring it to the foreground or go gray scale to take it into the background. If you get messed up working with quotes do not use a back arrow to completely clear out of the Text editor or even close TOB then log back in to start over, once you leave the text editor then come back in, what ever quotes you had will come back to haunt; you just can't get a way from them. The solution if this happens is you need to highlight these quoted items & delete as mention before ( highlighting sections then delete or use the backspace to delete) In IE and FF - highlight the section, then hit Backspace twice to delete the entire quote Using an IPAD - hold down your finger over the text then Select All and backspace --- Using a phone - hold down your finger over the text then Select All and backspace And/or X Also note that Tablets and Phones have fewer Editing options After submitting you will have a 10 minute window to edit your post, after that contact a Moderator to update your post accordingly.
