Posted August 19, 2014 Is it just me or are there all of the sudden a lot of asian asp around. My initial thought was after all of the AMP bust they are working another angle. Attempting to look indie but being ran by the same people. I will not post links as not to single anyone out incase I am wrong. However if you look at BP and a few others they are blatantly apperent. Posted August 19, 2014 It's possible that they are tied to Triads... I think that to some extent this is just regurgitation of a stereotype associated with Asian people. There have been few busts on AMPs in recent years. Especially considering the growth in their numbers as the OP mentioned. There is no reason to believe that 'Triads' would be connected to these businesses anymore than more lucrative legitimate ones like laundromats, gas station/convenience stores, or liquor stores the three most profitable small business types in the United States. The fact of the matter is that LE knows what typically goes on in places like this and find the effort and $ less of a return and are simply choosing not to spend a lot of time worrying about it.
