Posted May 18, 2014 Maybe you folks already know about this but in case you don't Colorado requires all escorts and "escort runners" to purchase an escort license. I know we are all law abiding citizens so I am doing my civic duty making sure you all know since ignorance of the law is no defense. And of course I am sure that once you know you will take immediate steps to comply with the law. LOL From what I have found the primary purpose of requiring a license (besides looking for more $ as usual) is if LE can't bust you for prostitution they can still bust you for escorting without a license. Now get this, according to the rules each time a client contracts with an escort the escort is supposed to provide a written contract. And then they are supposed to turn in copies of the paperwork once a month to their local municipality! OK so Next time I visit a lady I expect the contract to be sitting on the dresser where I put the roses. I would love to know how many independent escorts have actually done this? I can't seem to find any records and since each city and county handles it themselves I doubt anyone really knows. My guess is its a big zero. Especially since you have to provide finger prints, 2 mug shots, have to pay some big fees and need to establish a type of business (proprietorship, Llc, incorporate!) and deal with all the tax stuff. If anybody actually does this they'll have to raise their donations 50% to cover the overhead. Oh, and by the way, massage therapists are supposed to be licensed too so don't think you can't skirt Big Brother that way. Posted May 18, 2014 This was on the books when I lived and worked in Denver in the mid 90s, who knows how long before that. I've never known anyone to be licensed in Colorado though.
