For me, OKays from inactive providers don't hurt you...but they don't help you that much either. It tells me that you have an established history (a good thing) but I don't know if those Okays were given with enthusiasm (you were a great guy!) or grudgingly (You were right on the border, but the provider felt obligated to give you an OK.) Without active OKays, there is no way for me to check. So, my reaction is pretty "meh, what else you got?" I've no idea why you got a negative reaction to your inactive OKays. Hope this helps

Unless you were doing something weird, I doubt she was mad at you. She might have been scared though. Scared that you were going to blurt something and be indiscreet. I've been spotted "about town" a few times, and the gentlemen were...well...gentlemen. But I've heard some horror stories. Maybe she had a horror story in the past.

I've been referring to myself as a "courtesan-in-training" for years. Its not because I want to charge more than other providers (I don't), nor is it some marking trick. I think it comes down to a deal I made with myself in the beginning. If I'm going to do this, then I'm going to pour myself into this. I'm going to do my best. I'm going to care. I'm going to hold my head up high. So, I guess for me that courtesan just means that I chose this and didn't settle out of desperation.

I have to agree with Velvet. Yes, it sucks when you're a new provider and you have no or few reviews. It also sucks to be a newbie hobbyist that most providers won't see. The only good news for starting providers is that most don't even know about reviews, so they don't know what they're missing. Until that first one comes in and suddenly there is a bump in the business. When I got my first one and the guy told me...I hadn't even heard of reviews. I remember thinking, "um, thank you? that's a bit weird." I learned quick though

I have so many problems with this story and what they're doing its not even funny. First of all, they are openly and completely painting men as predators and the ladies as victims. This is unfair to both. This kind of stuff breeds resentment among clients and men in general – which is never good for women This whole "every woman is a victim" thing is straight out of the victorian repression where they thought that if a woman enjoyed sex she was mentally ill. This is insulting and an attempt to diminish our sexuality and ourselves as adults. And that's the key. When women are declared to be incapable of making our own choices, when we need to be protected from our choices, then we're being told we're basically [snip]. Also, notice in the story that they approach the johns and demand a “fine” on the spot, or they can go to court and “risk publicity.” This is extortion of the men, plain and simple. Its also just begging for corruption and bribes. “Buying sex is one of the most shameful crimes you can be arrested for”, says one of the cops in the story. Really? Gee, this cop sure has an innocent view of the world. Genocide, torture, mass murder, [snip], [snip], all rank higher. Hell, in my book so does illegally parking in a handicap spot. “The problem is gender-specific. Men buy women...” No, they don't. No more than you buy your chiropracter. “...this isn't about an adult woman's choice” Um...yes, it is. The world is a complicated place and no, not every lady in the adult business is a confident, and independent success story. And yes, explotation does take place. [snip] , women are beaten, third world women are forced into literal slavery. All of these things are real. But trying to make that the only story is like taking away the vote from women because “many [snip] and not able to make informed decisions.” Yeah, thats true but it is so far from the whole story that its not even funny.

Its interesting that we're all focusing on sex. What about the ASP's role of understanding the male psyche (as best as we can). We deal with gentlemen on a very personal level in areas that can be emotional minefields. Then again, I've never been married. Maybe I'm describing what a wife does anyway.

Is it the fact that the women don't have to worry about being arrested and so feel more comfortable and less afraid to open up about pimps, etc? What exactly is it about arresting the men that solves any of these problems? The article was dismissive of legalization and just said that there is more violence where it legal. Why? I hear ya, but you were able to have longer term relationships beyond the time spent with your clients. Same with an ASP I don't think the "1 hour" thing dictates how we interact with everybody every time.

This sounds like a cop out, but its totally true....personality trumps a body type for a lot of us. Not to be crass, but any established provider will have seen all kinds of body types and we've probably all had great and less great experiences with all kinds of body types as well. Honestly, if the personality is unpleasant, I'm not going to care what kind of body he has. And yah, that includes his dick.

Lots, or even most, legitimate reputable providers post on backpage. The problem is that so does everybody else. One trick is once you've initated contact, ask if they have a site, reviews, etc. See if this is an established lady who just happens to be using backpage (probably among others). If she doesn't and isn't established, then you're left to play the game of "diamond in the rough vs problem-chick" At that point its up to your own gut and your acceptable level of risk.

I never got the time-wasting prankster anyway. If he was 15, sure. But adults? It's stupid. And yeah, I've been hit with pranks before.

I'm guessing that your concern is that you'll have requests that might not be compatible with what the lady offers. And, of course, can't discuss services and if the review doesn't have any information then it seems like youre out of luck. One suggestion on this is to set up a one page blog where you describe the type things you enjoy...keep it short, and just make it about what you enjoy...don't give any detail about donations or even mention the word provider or anything. And during set-up negotiations, give the lady a link to it and ask her if she thinks you and her would be compatible. You don't need to be more specific than that, and once she's looked at it, she can say yes or no without being more specific than that. I know that I REALLY appreciate it when a gentleman does this. It lets me know if we're going to be compatible it also gives me a clue of how to make sure that our time together rocks!!!

I think that's key. Do your research and you shouldn't be disappointed or have problems. A hotel room can be a bit impersonal sometimes. While a home feels like a home and is just more comfortable. I know that myself and any reputable outcall lady respect and appreciate that this is your home that you're inviting us into.
