At one point in their lives, all dictators were elected at one time, except coups. Each state gets a vote for their 2 senators and one for each of the number of representatives they have. DC also gets 3 votes. 270 is the magic number that can beat the other opponent. Now the electors almost always vote the way the vote went. So the candidate with the most popular vote usually wins. (There have been 5 times this wasn't true). The wrinkle is that they aren't required by law to do so. So if there was a really horrible and corrupt person that won, the electors could cast a vote for the better candidate. A kind of check and balance. Once you remove the Electoral College, you could have a leader of a mob in the oval office. Provided they have enough voters (or can stuff enough ballot boxes). Look at what went on this summer. Would you really want one of those gang leaders as President. We would be no better than Cuba, Venezuela, Somalia, China, etc. I know it isn't perfect but do you have something else that is better?

I wish you would read the 14th amendment. Maybe you would learn something you didn't obviously learn in school. It never mentions right. It mentions privledge. The 15th said you couldn't deny people of race, color or previous condition of servitude the ability to vote. The 19th & 26th expanded on allowing women to vote & dropped the age to 18. In some states felons can't vote until they have served their full sentence, finished parole or probation. Then the privlegde is restored. Also mentally incompetent are not allowed to vote in some states. So a living, competent , non-felon, 18 yr natural born American woman of any race with more than 2 baby daddies can vote but I seriouly doubt she can pick the right guy.😂 There is no voter supression in trying to make sure every living American citizen allowed, gets one vote and that they make the choice by themself. All you have to do is want to vote. Just show up on time on Election Day. If you can't be there for Election Day, you can request an abentee ballot. You can also go in for early voting. Really is it that hard? Plus how long have you lived in this country not to know the USPS is neither 100% or on time. Any one with an IQ would have mailed their ballot weeks early. Then called their election board to see if it had been received. If it hadn't, then you could have voted in person. Your mail in ballot would be dicarded if it ever showed up.

Come on man. People have known for months that they could have voted by mail. So yes, if you waited until the last second you have a problem. The only one to blame is yourself and quit blaming others.

I know the virus exists. To some it can be devastating. To about 1% who contract it , the untilmate fate. I follow the mask laws out of respect to others. My job has had me out in all this since day one. Same as a majority of everyone else that has a job that requires your presence. I have shopped in grocery, big box stores and eaten out. These places are all about as packed as they have always been. Restaurants are the exception. Some tables are gone and bar stools have the cushions removed. I have breathed the same air, handled the same packages and opened the same doors as countless thousands. I have also visited a couple ladies during all this. Just like I have done in the past. I think that the media hyped this up like they do everything else. Just like the weatherman does when a snowstorm or thunderstorm rolls through. Also I think the election also gave them an incentive to make one side look even worse. Even though there no national laws to enforce. No way to make a vaccine any sooner. No way to have kept it out of this country entirely. They still seemed to blame it on one person. I will imagine that it will soon disappear from the news one way or another. They will either stop reporting it or will ignore it if their candidate wins.

Personally they always seem to screw things up. First all those ballots mailed in should have been counted in advance. Second , they should have quit receiving all ballots once the polls closed. If you were too lazy enough to wait to the last second, you don't deserve a vote. Do you think a commercial flight will turn around and come back and pick you up once it has taken off on time. Will a judge wait days for you to show up in court, when your court date was Nov. 3rd. That a teacher will allow you to turn in a project days after the end of the semester. "Hell No" Now all those ballots are tainted in my opinion. Where were they kept that tens of thousands just seem to be poping up days later.

I really don't want to vote for a guy who thinks he is running for the US Senate and also running against Bush for President. I have had a few customers like that and their families just used to lock all the doors on the house, to keep them from wandering out in public. That explains the basement.

Location that is close for you?, Location that is easy to get to off the hiway?, Nice area?, One in a city that isn't known for cracking down on hobbyists?, Complimentary Breakfast?, Price?, Newness of the building?, Amenities like hut tubs, pools, weight rooms?, Room Service?, Proximity of other restaurants/bars?, Reward Points?, Places you can avoid the lobby? , Multiple floors as opposed to say 4 and under. We are all adults and know what to do help protect ourselves. We don't need others to tell us. They say that with the regular flu season and covid, it would be the second wave. So get your flu shot. This year has been one for books. Still we need to get back out and keep things going. The virus is now a part of our lives. If you have the ability to stay home and never leave, do it if it makes you comfortable. I have no idea on how long it can survive by itself. A day, week, month or years. We can't be locked down forever. The water and lights have to work. Trash needs to be picked up. Sewers working. Food needs to be grown and trucked to stores. Etc, etc. There is no guarantee staying locked down will spare you. It just is better odds. There is still minimal contact with groceries. Even some animals can get it. I remember the tigers at the NYC Zoo cotracted it.

I can remember the smell of burning leaves. They put off a lot of smoke. It seems like a lifetime ago. My chore was to burn the trash about every night. Where I lived it was a 55 gallon barrel, with holes punched into the bottom sides. Everything went into the barrel and was burned. Since we lived in the country, the ashes just got dumped into a ditch on the property. We did have burn piles of limbs that came down by themselves or storms. We burned off gardens and fields. We could burn whenever we wanted. Now a small backyard fire pit is all we are allowed.
