No, I understand how the tracphone system works. I've re-upped minutes before, but eventually I'll turn the phone on and it wont be working and I'll try to re-up minutes and the tracphone system will tell me that the SIM card proper has expired. I then call customer service... if you can call it that... and they always recommend buying a new phone. I was just looking for alternatives.

It's been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to ask you all a question about hobby phones. (Not meaning to hijack the thread). I rarely hobby, but when I do I hate the idea of having my number out there so of course I use a burner phone, my problem is that every time I use a burner phone (Tracphone) eventually the SIM card expires and I have to buy a brand new one. I've had to do this three times over the past year (once just a couple weeks ago, which is why I'm posting) and frankly I'm sick of it. It's not the money aspect cause it's cheap, just the fact that it's such a scam. Any of you smarter mongers have a better way of going about it? IB
