So I have a question... When I get a client that doesn't show up for an appointment, I get these two common excuses. "I got in a car accident." or "My phone broke." My question is, would it be okay if I asked to see the accident report, or confirmation they got the phone fixed. It seems to me to be a way they are just trying to get out of not being able to see me so they can stay in my "good graces", and a good number of times I feel they are lying about it. I don't like being lied to, and I don't like my time wasted especially if another client was eager to see me at the same time they didn't show. I do know that accidents can happen, and yes, that phones can break, but there are computers everywhere to make contact. The issue I have is not just this one incident, but the others that make the same excuse. I mean, is it really that common that clients get in accidents before seeing us? I find it hard to believe. Phones can break, but again you can get to a computer and email me in a pretty quick manner. I have had my phone start updating software right when a client was supposed to show up, or have no internet service, but I do everything in my power to get it working or find another way to contact my client so that I am not standing them up. I feel that clients should do the same if they are really wanting to see me that bad. I don't feel I am asking for too much. I try to make seeing me as stress free as possible so when I encounter these things, it just makes me want to deal with them less. To me, it makes me feel that my time is not valued. I am not sure about other ladies, but I don't like to be disrespected and that is how I feel. I feel this way about ghosting too...if you ask if I am available, and I give you a time...let me know if it will work or not. I do like the "little things" that the other ladies talked about, but the one "little thing" that I adore is when I get a hug(a true genuine one). In just that hug, I know it is going to be a great time and I feel is a perfect ice breaker to relax, or it says I am glad you are my friend. I only hug people I like so if I hug you, it means I care about you and your well being. It may be a "little thing", but it means the world to me.

It is the principle of things, asshole. You don't cancel which screws us out of money(that pays our bills, food, etc), and then reschedule immediately because we run a deal to save our ass from the perp to begin with. He is not conscious of our time, and doesn't respect our rates. Your attitude is why we screen, have the rules that we apply to. Just a warning to y'all. I tend to have my hands constantly roaming over your skin for the duration of the moment you are in the door to when you surreptitiously slide out the door again. It is good to remember that everyone charges a set rate for different reasons(volume, steady clients, etc.)...it doesn't make them less because it isn't in your price range. There are rip offs in every rate range, but that is dependent on what a client is looking for. I know of a handful of gals that charge similar rates I do, and they are genuine and great at what they do. It may not put us on the "high class" list, but we have strict morals and standards just like any other provider. We also know we are worth every penny, and bust our arse to provide stellar service. xoxo, Samantha Sheppard
