  2. The most dangerous question in the world???

This is not a democracy.... let me repeat, this is NOT a democracy! This is a Queendom, and my priorities will always be: 1. making sure I have time to spend with my family 2. making sure I make enough money to support my family 3. making sure my employees can also enjoy 1. and 2. 4. making sure that I don't lose my mind 5. making sure that the other people who help out on TOB don't lose their minds That's it.
  3. BTW...I for one...

That is not correct.... the General Discussion forum is for Adult Industry related discussions that are not specific to one location over another.
  4. BTW...I for one...

  5. The most dangerous question in the world???

I've always paid for TOB. It was the least I could do, since I was going to make an income from EscortBoards when T.O. asked me to take over the Advertising. I am now in control of everything related to TOB and have T.O.'s blessing to do with the site as I see fit Actually, the GinaXXX Empire grew on the back on Private Connection, which was my former agency that was started in Dallas in 2002 (after I had closed Denver Cream and moved from Denver). It was from the need to farm out reference requests for Private Connection clients, that P411 grew. EscortBoards, and it's relationship with TOB, has always been very small cheese I'm sorry to say. I've spent many years trying to grow it, with zero success. In fact, it's shrunk year by year, and I would LOVE to see that turn around. So any changes I've made here, are to try to get EscortBoards doing better. I really have no interest in running Review and Discussion sites. They are a major drain on my energy, and the two that I currently own make ZERO dollars. Yes, some traffic is sent to EscortBoards from the TOB/LVfever... and that is the ONLY reason I am still here. If it wouldn't mean the death of EscortBoards to give them up, I would in a heartbeat. Correct, my main interest lies in P411. That is the site that pays my bills! However, I'd like to see EscortBoards do much better than it does. Nevada reviews was already been added to TOB Reviews early last week. That was never a huge issue. The issue is that the TOB Review Database needs a major, very expensive, overhaul. I don't want to fork the $$ out for it.... and keeping it the way it is is asking more from the Review Moderators than I should be asking. It needs work, big time, believe it or not. Everything I have done up until now has been to try to keep the TOB community FREE for users, while not costing me too much time and money. Currently, it's costing me way too much time, and if I rebuild the Review Database, it will cost me way too much money. However, you are correct.... I AM motivated by profit, and if TOB ends up costing me more than just a little money, that cost will be passed on to the users. Whether it be because I sell TOB and LVfever to someone else, or because I set it up to generate an income through reviews, that definitely could happen. If you want TOB to continue to be FREE, I suggest that users don't make running it a headache for me, and the mods. Don't for one second think that I won't turn this into a pay site one day, because I am absolutely driven by profit.... you don't work for free, and neither do I. However, as long as the TOB community can continue to chug along without being a drain on our emotional and financial resources, I won't bother with it. It can continue on, pretty much as it has. Always, Gina
  6. BTW...I for one...

I have no plans to make TOB a national board. The only reason I set up Nevada Forums here is because I am NOT going to manage (and pay for) TWO review/discussion sites that generate no income. One is plenty (thanks) and that means that LVfever will in the near future be redirected here. If that community drops off or decides to find another home, that will be unfortunate, but life goes on. I removed Texas because Eccie has that area well handled, and I agree with BigBalkBlack I love that Eccie and think they do what they do very well. In regards to the General Discussion board. This site is no longer Colorado only, and therefore discussions that are pertinent to the entire community (Co and Nv) will be moved. If you don't like it, that's your prerogative, but we won't be trying to remember who likes their threads to be moved and who doesn't. Let the complaining begin.... Oxy
  7. I'm thinking just a touch bigger than the DivaVelvet.com would be max.... not sure the point size. A bit smaller than your current Heading. Oxy
  8. I absolutely agree. The reason I want to allow contact info in signatures is because I want providers to utilize the board more, which in turn brings in more clients, which brings in more providers, and so on... and so on. My idea of a vibrant community is one that grows and evolves through time, and I'm going to do what I can to encourage everyone's participation. However, I'm also of the opinion that while some graphics can be done very tastefully done and in a size that isn't irritating, too often it's done in a way that the AD overtakes the contribution to the discussion. For that reason, we're going to implement some more stringent guidelines: Provider Signature Rules Your signature may contain a text link to your website, a link to your reviews, and/or a link to your P411 page or similar. Contact information such as phone number or E-mail address is also permitted in your signature. Size must not be greater than 4 using the forum editing tools. If you would like to use a graphic for your signature, it must not be larger than 650x120 in total. It may NOT be animated. It may NOT include an image of a human body part. It may only contain text links to your website, a links to your reviews, and/or a link to your P411 page or similar. Contact information such as phone number or E-mail address is also permitted in your signature. Size of text must not be greater than what would be comparable to 4, using the forum editing tools. Signatures may not be overly gaudy (colors, all caps, etc), determined only by the forum moderators' collected opinion. No other information that could be considered advertising is ever permitted in your signature or in posts. You may upload your picture to use as your avatar only. How does this sound? I'm open to feedback from both sides and hope that we can find middle ground. I won't be updating the rules until final word on this has been decided, and would like to see a good example of an acceptable graphic to direct people to (I'm thinking Beverly's is a good current example?). Always, Gina
  9. Big news, as of this morning! http://ca.news.yahoo.com/life-death-appeal-court-decision-canadas-sex-trade-080010162.html Summary: Outcall prostitution has always been legal. Incall prostitution is now legal Solicitation in a public place remains on the books to prevent an influx of street prostitution. YAY!!!!!!
  10. The current TOB and LVfever Review Databases are very time consuming for those approving reviews and need work. I could put some effort into making changes to the Review Databases to help streamline the process a bit, but that takes time and costs a good bit of money (that wouldn't come out of my pocket in the end). So I am considering an alternative. I can create Review Forums, here on TOB, a la Eccie.net. This would mean that the vast majority of reviews could post without the assistance of the mods. The mods would only be called in to address issues if needed, and could have a life outside of TOB too! The old Review Database would remain as an Archive, but would be closed to new reviews. So anyway, I'm hoping to get some feedback from the community about the different directions we can take with the Review Database. Thanks for taking part in this poll!
  11. Firefox, Chrome or IE 8/9

I use FF too, and don't have any issues that seem like I'm getting "bumped out", but I did put in changes that opens outside links in a new browser window or tab, which would likely take you away from the window or tab where you are viewing TOB.
  12. Post People!

I always did find them to be very quiet..... HEEEYYYYYYYY!!!! Hopefully that will wake them up. Oxy
  13. What to do about Reviews....

HAHAHAHAHAHA... exactly!!!!! Good one. Seriously though, my main developer is a genius and terribly overworked. I can't take him off of P411 and put him on TOB at this point, so I would need to bring in another (very good) developer. It's a lot of work, on my part as well as the developer's, to take on a project like this and have it turn out really well. I'm a perfectionist, to the extreme. So there will be no half-assed jobs done by me.
  14. What to do about Reviews....

This thread isn't about age verifications. Please start a new thread if you'd like to debate your expertise on the topic. Thanks for the feedback. I suppose much of the issue is that my business isn't in Reviews, and it's not where my interest lies. I'm just as unexcited about being in charge of paid reviews, as I am about free reviews. A review/discussion site is a load of drama and headaches, and these days you couldn't pay me enough to make me want to do it. However, I do feel a sense of duty to the TOB community, and I think it would be a shame to let it just die. Not to mention, I have a small business that is closely connected to TOB (EB) and I have a responsibility to keep that business alive. So seeing everyone's feedback is a big help. I'm still not quite sure which direction to take, and I'm going to keep thinking about it. And for the people are so curious about how it could possibly cost $10,000 to rebuild the Review Database.... good developers charge $80-$110 an hour (no joke) and it needs a major overhaul. If it could be done for $10,000, that would be cheap.... chances are it would creep into the $20,000 realm. P411 has cost many hundreds of thousands of dollars, for an idea of how much a hand coded site can cost. Oxy
  15. What to do about Reviews....

AND you want it to be free..... Maybe I'm not being clear, but this isn't going to be an option. It's an either/or situation. Personally, I'm leaning towards free and less work for moderators, BUT it wouldn't be as clutterfree or easy to search.
  16. What to do about Reviews....

I agree that a Review Database is preferable to the end user. There is no question that it is a superior experience (at least in my opinion). The issue is that if we keep the current Review Database, it needs a good amount of work in order for it to be optimized so that it's more manageable on the Admin side. In plain English, if we keep the current Review Database, it will not be free. If you have a choice between a nice TOB Review Database that costs $5-$10/mo and a TOB Review Forum for free. which would you prefer?
  17. What to do about Reviews....

All of what you said made a great deal of sense! I was addressing another poster who assumed that we were was considering the move to forums so that I could start charging for access to reviews.
  18. What to do about Reviews....

This is another negative about switching to forum reviews. Once again the question is, should a handful of people devote way too much time keeping the Review Database going so that thousands of people have FREE access to a nice review database. Not to mention, should one person (ME) bear the financial costs of keeping it going while users access it for free? Quite honestly, we can't keep the current Review Database the way it is. It needs some major work to make it more manageable, which will cost something to the tune of $10,000. Where is that money going to come from? Not my pocket.... and that's all I know. So moving to forum reviews will at least allow us to continue offering free reviews, without the mods having to do too much grunt work. I'm not totally sold on the idea yet, though.... so I really appreciate the feedback!
  19. What to do about Reviews....

If that's what I meant, that's what I would have said. I have no intention of charging anyone to view reviews.... however, I am not going to pay out of my pocket so that you can read reviews for free. Moving to forum based reviews is cheaper than rebuilding the current Review Database, which is one of the main reasons I'm considering the change. If you reread my original post, you'll probably notice that's what I said.
  20. Brothels now legal in Canada

That law has only ever been used to address nuisance prostitution (in a public place), and even then it's not enforced very strictly.
  21. So, are pussy pictures a go now too?

FatDog just pointed out to me that the image he posted is NOT an unacceptable image, and in fact it's so freakin' hilarious I hope he posts it again! Hopefully he will forgive me for giving him an infraction for posting a picture of a man's EARS!! hahahaha (how embarrassing!) Oxy
