Thanks for the advice. My company is putting me up in a well known hotel chain that is known to have trained their employees to look for signs of the hobby. It doesn’t have a bar or “spa”. I don’t believe the employees there will be helpful or have any type of on-site “service”. If I visit another hotel bar, I think I would be expected by my companion to have a room at that hotel. Need to ponder.

I’m traveling in a week to China and will be there for an extended time. I have googled for hobby sites in China but having little luck finding sites that seem legit. Can someone dm me (not trying to shill for any sites) a few sites they use, specifically for China, that work for international travelers? I know I can find massage parlors, barber shops, salons but I’m concerned about LE raids. and yes, I looked at TOB and my destination had zero entries. thank you!
