My reviews went from 169 yesterday to 229 today. Did anyone notice the change? I’m wondering why. No hate to the change. I just noticed it and wanted to know what happened.

Recently mine seemed to go down by 1 every couple weeks or a month. I thought clients were deleting profiles. I went from 90 to 97. So I wonder if there was an issue previously with disappearing reviews....

But over 200... that's a win for you honestly

Really? I didn’t notice any going missing but I was going to celebrate when I hit 200. I expected it to be sometime next year. Not complaining. I was just not expecting to hit it this year.

I definitely noticed it. I always keep an EYE on The TOB Big Dawgs (client/provider with 100 plus reviews). I figured they just added reviews that you had on another site. Congratulations to you for being the female provider with the most reviews on TOB................ Its not easy to be a part of this PRESTEGIOUS CLUB.................. Maybe they are gutting them because I am missing pages of reviews myself. A few years ago, they took about 80 reviews from me and I never got an explanation.

It seemed like when I would get a new one my number wouldn't go up. And I was like wtf. 🤔 but who knows maybe @Developer can shed some light

Something definitely going on with reviews. My number is the same, but only the last 15 are visible. There is also a # column with everyone's reviews, with the most recent review being #1 and then counting up, or back from there.

I made some changes to the reviews based on providers reaching out to me with concerns that their reviews displayed didn’t match what they really had. Eg someone shown 77 approved reviews but they really had 114 approved.

Wasn’t really a bug, it was that reviewers who left you more than 1 review only counted as 1.

eg if you had 5 reviews from mustang. It would be grouped as 1.

other notable changes is performance (mostly for admins) in the review section which also allows us to increase from showing 15 displayed to 50 or more which was a requested feature from client feedback as well to see more on the page.

The other changes from 1-15 were just ascending order from newest to latest. I’m still working on this part.

i am refactoring all the code section by section and fixing long standing issues for anticipation to upgrade the website when we get there. I didn’t want to bring over the same issues and then chase them.

I’m still working on things so if you spot something weird, just send me a PM and I can look at it.

Edit:

@Mustang87 - I fixed the glitch. I forgot to undo my count in the column when I was trying to make sure the review numbers match appropriately.

Speaking of reviews - would anyone else be in favor of two additional columns in the master list, one showing the location and the other the reviewer's handle? IMHO both would be VERY useful and since both are already populated fields it would seem easy to do.

I said nothing about helping to write reviews.  It would greatly assist in telling quickly which ones to BOTHER reading. If the lady WANTS a review I write one.  And the fact that YOU think you can intimidate me into writing more is HILARIOUS.

I like this. The original design I had contained more information, but the mobile real estate was limiting the fields. Fine for iPads or tablets and desktop browsers, bad for mobile devices.

When the UI gets redeveloped I think those are good fields to have. A client sent me a PM asking if the reviews can contain a thumbnail of the providers profile pic as well. I also liked that idea.

The reviews are bland to just read through them if you’re window shopping and needs an improvement.

Here’s the old design I did a long time ago for the reviews with the additional fields. Are there any other fields you’d be interested in seeing from the old design?

Thanks for looking at.  I phrased it as a question to all if it would be good, hope others chime in.  I would personally find the two additions I mentioned very helpful.  The p411 and date-check info strikes me that if being a member of those is important would not guys start there and follow a link to TOB in their ad at p411/d-c.  Which direction of traffic is most advantageous for you? Seems not helpful to add them. One guy's opinion only.  The thumbnails would not be what I search on the review page, but again others may.  But to save space on page .....  As to phone versus tablet/laptop is there any reason not to just be able to toggle as it were or select the version to view based upon what you were viewing on?  Like perhaps bare bone for phones but thumbnails and whatever add-ons for tablet/computer. I know some phones compared to ten years ago may handle better but small enough to fit my phone screen - hard to see.  Especially so if the "hobby phone" is an oldie but moldy.  Just one guy opinions.

It's to give both. Say I am browsing here at the ads, there should be a p411 link that you click that brings you right to their p411 page. The same would be said for the reviews with that field. You would just click the p411 link and be taken to their page to look at it.

When I first started working with TOB, there were talks about some sort of integration with P411 since there was some sort of history (I don't remember much now) but some sort of integration where this content can be viewed from here without having to go to P411. I think it was scrapped only because P411 would lose value in it, or something. I don't know...

It does this automatically. Early on, that is what I did with the design, as you collapsed the browser, certain fields would be hidden from view to fit for the mobile experience. I was then told to remove them because as you said, they weren't that 'useful' and it became harder to support from a support perspective. An angle to look at how TOB thinks. You have 2 people browsing the reviews. One person on mobile, one person on web - The web sees all, the mobile does not, or maybe they are the same person and then sometimes they see it all (when on browser) and sometimes they don't. What would happen in the past is people would email support and say the site is bugged and not working because a field would disappear.

That is why the decision was made to deviate and only choose the set fields so not to cause confusion amongst the people here.

Going forward, my idea is to allow users to select what fields are important to them and what are not. So if you want to see p411, you can... if you don't care, you can remove it and it'll be hidden both for phones and for browsers. So then it's just a learning curve to set your columns as you wish and it won't matter between browsers.

It all just comes down the UI/UX design. The reviews and ads need a 2025 overhaul more than anyyyything.

I value the opinions, that's why I am here :)

I would be in favor of that. Could be a time-saver.

I believe he means in the listings - clicking review icon nets one the message "no reviews yet"

When I'm looking at a listing, click on the ladies reviews, they all say "no reviews yet:. Maybe it's just me.

This has been fixed. Just @ me if you find anything else buggy while I refactor some of the old code to make it easier to upgrade.

The change I made this time is to get rid of the pagination. So instead of click page 2 to see reviews, you can click "Load more reveiws" and they'll keep loading.

@gr8owl - I also added your requested fields. Let me know if it doesn't fit or look right on your device(s) so I can tweak it, or if any sections of the reviews were missed. I'm not working from my workstation where it's easy for me to update all the code across the site, so I may miss something somewhere like what @Mustang87 pointed out :).

I wrote about yesterday on here.  I also saw a client on Sunday (this last Sunday), and that review was posted immediately.

@Developer  Not to play Columbo, but one more thing.

It was pointed out to me by a very smart lady that the "experience" column should remain to the left in the second column next to the provider name in column one.  The most important stuff first! That much for certain.  Rest of the order left to right perhaps date, location, # of reviews for lady and reviewer last column. Opinions may vary on order of last four.
