Val Kilmer

11 posts in this topic

Woke up this morning to read that Val Kilmer had passed.

He was great in so many movies, Batman, Top Gun, Tombstone to name a few.

So sad.

R.I.P.

Yes, he was a great actor and presence. When he first made his rise I thought he had the potential to be another Brando or other giant male actor.  But he chose a more low key career trajectory.  He suffered a lot in recent years and it's curious that in this day people still die of pneumonia.  But maybe that's what takes over when our bodies can no longer stand the stress of life.

A very talented actor.  His Doc Holiday was outstanding, as were many of his roles.  He nailed Jim Morrison on the head in "The Doors".  I know his health had been spotty for a number of years.  RIP.

Sorry to see him go.

He had very serious throat cancer for well over a decade. He went through massive chemo. His breathing and voice were permanently altered. If you can't breathe properly, it's pretty easy to die as a result of pneumonia. It's not an old time condition.

It's not "Top Secret" that Val Kilmer was a "Real Genius".  He was a "Top Gun" in the industry, and you can put that on his "Tombstone".  He went out with a "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"  You can be my wingman anytime.

RIP Val Kilmer

You are immunocompromised for life after cancer and pneumonia can easily kill you. Val actually worked with Brando on the Island of Dr. Moreau but it didn't go so well and it's unfortunate. Val didn't really choose that lowkey trajectory, he wanted and deserved so much more. His documentary VAL offers a lot of insight on how he ended up with the career he had.
