Posted March 20, 2025 Thursday is the first day of Spring! Pretty mild Winter but don't forget we like to save our biggest storms for the Spring sometimes
Posted March 20, 2025 Can't believe how quickly March has gone by. I'm pretty sure we will have one more good snowstorm before the end of April. Hope it happens before the trees leaf out and the flowers bloom.
Posted March 20, 2025 Easily 7 years out of 10, my Spring bulbs were reduced to a brown mush. Those few years they weren't were spectacular, but Spring along the Front Range is a tricky s.o.b.
Posted March 20, 2025 My bulbs are way to early from the mild winter. Many of my other flowers have started to sprout. Hopefully, they survive. Colorado is definitely a challenge.
Posted March 21, 2025 My tulips are definitely too far along and 70s next week! WTF
Posted March 22, 2025 I have flowers coming up too. I covered them up with soil last month. They stayed hiding until this week. Daffodils usually come up around the last week of March. It always feels like Easter when I see the Daffodils poking up. Excited for this year’s blooms!
Posted March 24, 2025 No way it doesn't snow and freeze in April, if not May, but I'm getting as much water on my lawn as I can, while I can.

Same... got the sprinkler system all hooked up and rolling. Grass and plants are all happy...
Posted March 28, 2025 Wow...I just got my water bill. I need to work a lot more to support these trees, flowers, and soon to be vegetable beds. Hopefully, we will have a rainy spring 🌼

I got a voice mail from the utility company saying my water usage had been higher than expected this past week. 😬 Actually got a little rain overnight, so I'll probably cut out the watering for a few days.

You know, I do appreciate the utility companies doing things like that. A few years back I randomly went down into my crawlspace to find my main water line coming into the house had cracked and there was a spray shooting out into the dirt. Don't know how long it was happening but it could have been soooo much worse.

Posted April 1, 2025 Like a lot of you I thoroughly enjoy gardening in my yard. I love the smell of freshly turned dirt. There is a peace, a contentment of working in a garden. One of the many joys springtime offers is having a grandson help me clean out the flower beds and then lunch. I am especially proud of my roses every year. I always appreciate hearing about and sharing helpful hints or ideas to improve blooming, mite control, overall health. Anything to enhance the beauty and longevity. Soon the morning birds will be chirping just at dawn. I love that sound.

I had very good success with many antique roses when I lived in CO. Very fragrant and hardy. Hybrid teas, not so much.

Posted April 2, 2025 Those 80° days we had were really a tease! I drove back from Vegas yesterday and all the weather changes between here there and here are messing with my sinus'! Im So ready for some steadily warm weather!
Posted April 6, 2025 (edited) We are seeing 90 most days, and have already seen 100 this year in the RGV. 😱😁🥴 last month the air was filled with the scent of orange blossoms. Last week i rode through fields of onions along the border. Edited April 6, 2025 by Bit Banger
Posted April 6, 2025 Very sad: The Loveland library is not having the seed sharing this year. The seed company is not contributing. I wish I could start a seed sharing project!
Posted April 16, 2025 Sheesh, I'm glad I read this post. I almost forgot Texas and Colorado's weather is vastly different, especially in the spring.... I just seen that there is upcoming snow this weekend for Denver !!! Question: is there currently still snow on the ground from the last storm?
