Posted September 5 I'm wondering with all of the political drama and also how most of us are working so hard, what is the one good thing that happened to you today? Me? A close friend survived a very difficult surgery and is on the mend so to speak. I'm VERY happy for that indeed! Thank God and Fishes! YAY! On a very much lighter note. Casa Bonita is accepting regular reservations! Sounds kinda cheap, I know. I've been promising to take my kids and all of the grand kids to Casa Bonita to see what the remodel looks like.... Bart's Cave, cliff diving, the arcade (hopefully still there)......Damn....I'm going to spend almost a grand on this, I hope it's worth it! I hope they have fun like I use to when I was a kid! Posted September 5 Many good things are happening in spite of the political drama and the shootings in schools and on trains. Some days I need to remember to be grateful to wake up feeling good with the chance to meet with friends. Average, your life is so big and special! Do not ever sell yourself short. You are a good person with a LOT of friends, you have a lot of interests outside of this board. I agree, waking up, feeling good is a fantastic thing as we all get older. Me, not so much the past few weeks. Another story for another time. We can only control what we can and the rest of it seems to be out of our hands. When I vote, I pay attention to these facts. Hope everyone else does as well. Posted September 9 Doing well after open heart ( mechanical problems surgery). Yes it was very complicated surgery so @sparkey600 is right but I am a healthy kritter tough as nails. Just give me a couple of weeks! I already have been out a few days. I have strong core muscles from athletic training. 🥰No need for a walker or any additional equipment. I’m also doing my best to stay away from opiates. Just a couple times a day with Tylenol is all I need. Melting ice on my Sternum. Yes I walked out of the hospital and down to my daughter’s car. We went and got a green Mr. Misty at Dairy Queen.. I made history with my four leaf clover on my left ventricle.🧐 no need for me to say more. Posted September 9 Lol, I won the genetic lotto with all my issues, but one thing is for certain: I am not alone! There are many of us with lite thomaas, although most of the people in my family that have heart issues have plumbing issues. All of the people that have been here for a while (read years) care about what happens in another members life and often offers encouragement when it's needed, or a slap down when someone is off base. I try to be positive in my posts for the most part. I try to "call them as I see them" Still I get "slapped down once in a while And it's deserved sometimes! HAHA. But lately I seem to not see so much the empathy that the board offered in the past. Not calling anyone here out, just something I've noticed. It's lately more of a competition and less like a brother and sisterhood. I for one would like the latter a little more often if everyone can see fit? Kali has SO many friends here and they all respect her, me for one 100% She is and has ever been a kind and accepting person over the years. Nobody can argue with that.
