Eric Karros ('92), Mike Piazza ('93), Hideo Nomo ('95) ... are correct!

'94 and '96 are tough guesses!

('94's son also played in the majors!)

Okay I have another TRIVIA for you LOL? Who did Michael Farmer strike out 4 times the first time he met them and the second time they met, the guy hit for the cycle? I will give you a hint? The guy that he struck out 4 times and later the second meet hit for the cycle against Michael Farmer is a member of TOB.

A random guess: Jeff Kent.

LOL, nope.............................. Isn't he the guy that Barry Bonds got into it with? Mike also played for the SKI SOX down in Colorado Springs.

I do remember seeing that confrontation in the dugout on Sports Center!

JK was in BB's face!

In regard to your Mike Farmer question: Was this player famous?

(I'm sayin' he was an obscure nobody ... and it was a complete fluke!)

If you really think about it:

Very, very, very few MLB caliber hitters ... can be struck out 4 times by the same pitcher in the same game!

(That would imply that the pitcher pitched 9 innings!)

No?

I can't see journeyman Mike Farmer pitching a complete game!

Furthermore, it's rather hard to believe that a pitcher like Mike Farmer was still in the game when an opposing batter was so locked in on him .... and, on the verge of hitting for the cycle against him!

(I can't see that happening ... on a MLB level!)

Like I said: It had to be a complete fluke!

To all you MLB fans out there ... here's a question:

The MLB rule states that a player must have 502 plate appearances in order to qualify for the batting title!

How is it possible to win the batting title AND NOT have 502 PAs?

(It has happened!)

Hmmmm..... The appearance here is that you are treading dangerously close to violating one of the foundational commandments of TOB: Thou shalt not out thy brother.....

Jeff Kent was a straight up HATER, PERIOD. Some guys just can't STOMACH when another is MUCH BETTER than they are. It shows whenever they have something to say or comment LOL. I would have to disagree with you calling the guy an obscure nobody LOL, lets just say you SIMPLY never knew of him is a better saying. And its not a FLUKE. You are correct, Mike did pitch the entire game, he pitched a number of complete games back then. It was not in the majors, so you are correct about that as well. Now once he got into the PROS, he was a reliever and you and I both know, they hardly ever pitch a complete game nor start a game. I could be wrong but I am guessing you wasn't that good in baseball or you didn't play at all. I had a good friend who use to ride motorcycles with me and he could quote and tell you how to ride a wheelie from watching YOUTUBE videos and reading all types of shit. But to actually ask him to perform or do anything that he quoted LOL, he couldn't do it. He use to tell me all day how to ride a wheelie and this and that. This is how we became good friends. I listened to him all of the time and one day I took him out on the highway and asked if he would record me riding. The result is he couldn't even keep up nor was he able to see what it looked like doing a wheelie at over 150 mph............................. I bet you think doing a wheelie at 150 mph is a fluke too.

The other day I was at the gas station and this guy rolls up. In the beginning, I had no idea he was famous. All I could tell was he appeared to be a diehard CHICAGO CUB FAN. So me being a diehard CUB FAN, I decided to go test his knowledge. We had an awesome conversation. He was very knowledgeable of THE CUBS, so he flipped it around and started testing me. He had somewhere he had to be and so did I. I should have asked him for his phone number. This guy holds the CHICAGO CUBS ROOKIE HOME RUN RECORD and he is famous for CRIP WALKING (C WALKING) during a national televised baseball game.

Jeff Kent deserves to be in the HOF!

He was every bit as good as (better than) Derek Jeter!

If JK played his entire career for the Luxury-Tax/Free-Spending Yankees (like Derek Jeter did) ... he'd be in the HOF!

If DJ was drafted by the budget-conscious Rockies,  Pirates or Marlins ... there's no way he would have had the career that he had!

There's NWIH if he played for the Rockies, Pirates or Marlins ... he would have been on 4 World Series teams in his first 5 years!

NFW!

Derek Jeter had the good fortune of playing for the greatest free-agent/luxury-tax teams in the history of MLB ... for his entire career!

If you plugged in Jeff Kent for Derek Jeter ...THE YANKEES DON'T MISS a BEAT!

(For that matter: if you plug in Nomar Garciaparra, Miquel Tejada, (even Rick Aurilia), or Michael Young for DJ ... THE YANKEES DON'T MISS a BEAT!)

THEY STILL WIN 4 World Series in 5 Years!

JK's career, average 162 game slash line is far superior to DJ's!

JK's 162 game career slash line: 27 HR, 107 RBI,  .297 BA.

DJ's 162 game career slash line: 15 HR, 77 RBI, 310 BA.

(WHO'S the BETTER PLAYER?)

THIS ... is what happens when you don't play your entire career for the high-profile Yankees!

If Derek Jeter had the misfortune of being drafted by the cheapskate Pirates ... he would probably have had a career equivalent to that of Michael Young!

(Who's Michael Young?)

An underrated, relatively-unknown, UTR career .299 hitter!

Miguel Tejada was better than Derek Jeter!

Nomar was better than DJ!

Obviously ARod!

(Can you name any MLB HOFer ... where you can say off of the top of your head: "There were 3 players who played his position during his generation that were better than him?)

Defensively he was just average; he had limited range; he couldn't make an Omar-Vizquel-like, backhand play from deep the hole!

(Defensively, Omar Vizquel was much better then him!)

There's no comparison, really!

OV eats his lunch!

It's apples and oranges!

During his entire career DJ was surrounded by the BEST LUXURY-TAX FREE AGENTS ... GEORGE STEINBRENNER'S MONEY COULD BUY:

David Cone, Dwight Gooden, Steve Howe, Jimmy Key, Graeme Lloyd, Jeff Nelson, Kenny Rodgers, John Wetteland, Roger Clemens, Mike Stanton, Mike Mussina, Joe Girardi, Wade Boggs, Charlie Hays, Chili Davis, David Justice, ARod, Mark Teixeira, Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui, A.J. Burnett, CC Sabathia, Tino Martinez, Tim Raines, Darryl Strawberry, Cecil Fielder, Mark Whitten, Mario Duncan, Hideki Irabu, Chuck Knoblauch, Scott Brosius!

(I hope I didn't forget anybody!)

WTF!

Must be nice to be on a team with all those Luxury-Tax Free Agent$ ... UR ENTIRE CAREER!

No wonder Derek Jeter won 4 World Series in his first 5 years!

Look what the best Free-Agent/Luxury-Tax Team  $$$ could buy in MLB history... did for journeyman .257 career hitter Scott Brosius (who's he?):

Scott Brosius ... 1998 World Series MVB!

There Ya Go!

Huh ... Whaa?

(It's nice to be surrounded by Luxury-Tax Free Agents AND NOT ...Triple-A, September Callups!)

I used to hangout at inner-city public courts and played anybody who stepped on the court!

I am going to make sure I don't mention Mr Jeter around you LOL. You have a chip on your shoulder when it comes to him. I know you dig Jeff Kent LOL but he wasn't better than Mr Jeter. I agree, Jeter was lucky/fortunate playing for the SOOPED UP YANKEES but he still was good. He wasn't as good DEFENSIVELY like The Wiz or Barry Larkin in my opinion but its all in the eye of the beholder. I personally don't care for Bobby Knight, Mike Ditka and Mike Shanahan...............

Was your pull up shot as quick? You never know, you could have easily been better than him if you had persued/followed a different path in life. I was good at a lot of sports but being able to make it to the Pros, it definitely would have been baseball or football (easily).

Easily eh?  Then why baseball or football.  Why not baseball and football.  You could have been Bo Faire, or Savoir Jackson.  Or you could be coaching the CU Buffs right now.  So what kept you from the pros?  Contract dispute?

"He wasn't as good DEFENSIVELY as the Wiz or Barry Larkin"

Amen!

Derek Jeter couldn't steal hits!

He made the routine plays!

(As a defender, to put DJ in the same sentence as Omar, Ozzie and Barry .... Is an INSULT to THEM!)

Are you aware the-great-and-wonderful Derek Jeter was voted by his peers as the most-overrated player in baseball!**

(What's up wit dat?)

He played in NYC; he got all the exposure and  publicity!

He benefited from the NYC/Yankees hype machine!

Statistically (by all offensive metrics), Miquel Tejada was much better than him!

MT had a 7 year HR, RBI run of: 30/115; 31/113; 34/131; 27/106; 34/150; 26/98 and 24/100!

(Those are big, carry-a-team, power-hitting #s!)

Derek Jeter couldn't carry a team!

DJ never even came close to such a run!

20 years with the stacked Yankees and ...Derek Jeter could only come up with 1 year with 24/102!

THAT'S IT!

(And, that's because he got pitches to hit ... cuz all those high-priced, luxury-tax free agents got on base in front of him!)

If you look at pure stats MT eats DJ's lunch!

Like I said: If you swapped MT for DJ ... the Yankees don't miss a beat!

(They get better ... cuz they get better offensive production from the 6 hole!)

They get more HR and RBI from the 6 hole!)

If DJ is drafted by the A's and languishes in Oakland for 20 years ... his career takes a much, much, different trajectory!

He's a journeyman!

MT has a better career slugging % than DJ!

Miquel Tejada won an MVP!

Derek Jeter never won an AL MVP!

(And, how many high-priced, luxury-tax free agents was Miquel Tejada surrounded by in the A's lineup?)

PJ Santangelo? Eric Byrnes? John Jaha?

There Ya Go!

TML sometimes people are who they say they are. I could have EASILY played 2 sports (football and baseball) like Bo and Deon LOL. Hows that? Is that better? I would have EASILY been better than both Deon and Bo in baseball. In football, they are impressive/outstanding but in baseball, to me LOL they were okay. I can't say for sure if I would have been on those guys level in football because I would have played QB on offense (which neither of them played) and DB on defense. What kept me from going to the pros? Becoming a grown man/father that had to put others before himself......................... I often wonder what/who I would have been in THE SPORTS WORLD but my other choice turned out to be ONE HELLOVA RIDE....................I am not complaining...................

Read the June 30, 2008 Bleacherreport article by Sean Kennedy: "MLB: The Most Overrated Player?"

(I rest my case!)

I am not against you LOL but he got lucky with the Yankees. The way you feel about Jeter is how I feel about DRAYMOND POWDER LIPS GREEN. He lucky he played with Steph/Klay/Durant because he is in the dictionary next to OVERRATED...................

That's a very apt comparison!

If Draymond Green played for the Washington Wizards there NFW he has the career that he has!

He'd be just another NBA power forward, journeyman grinder!

In your critique of 2-sport athletes you forgot to mention MJ!

Michael Jordan couldn't hit a curveball!

Those triple-A pitchers made him look silly!

Was your pull up shot as quick? You never know, you could have easily been better than him if you had persued/followed a different path in life. I was good at a lot of sports but being able to make it to the Pros, it definitely would have been baseball or football (easily).

I was just out there tryin' to break a sweat!

It was street ball!

"12 by 2 ...15 Sudden... Air Ball Straight Up ... If you  beat me we gotta run it back!"

(You'd be surprised how many guys would take a game from me ... but refused to run it back!)

What is your opinion of Tommy DeVito?

He has essentially the same skill set as "Mr. Irrelevant!"

How do explain the success of Brock Purdy?

They essentially had the same middling resume coming out of college.

Brock Purdy/Iowa State ... Tommy DeVito/Syracuse/Illinois.

Correction, I wasn't critiquing 2 sport athletes. I was asked why didn't I play baseball and football in the pros like Bo and Deon. And now that you bring up The Goat, lol his skills were below the other two. Mike could have been a lot better but he found out its not that easy hitting a small white ball coming at you some 100 mph. Its a few things a great batting coach should have worked on with him but it clearly shows that they didn't or Mike didn't listen.

The guys that didn't want to run it back with you could have been two types of guys. One doesn't want to run it back with you because they CONFIDENTLY know the results are going to be the same, they just view you as a sore loser. The second type of guy knows you gave him hell on the court and they don't want to face you for fear of losing for sure. Tommy DeVito = overrated and Brock Purdy = lucky he was on the 49ers. LOL, I would take Jim McMahon and the 1984 Chicago Bears over any other team in football................. I would have to BENCH Mike Ditka though LOL. That asshole destroyed the greatest football team in history (in my opinion).
