Where would Bronnie have landed in the draft without his dad? Would he have been drafted at all? I wish him well, but there is no denying he received, based on his revord, undeserved favorable treatment.

Under normal circumstances he wouldn’t have gone pro with his then collegiate stats, and if he had he’d have gone undrafted. We don’t even have to pretend. That said Bronnie is not the first to benefit tremendously (and yes that includes others in NBA history) from their parents’ position and won’t be the last. He’s there so might as well enjoy the show.

Bronny's all hype!

He's all smoke and mirrors!

(USC had him listed at 6'4"  ... he's 6'1" and change!)

He's got no jump shot!

He averaged 4.8 PPG at USC!

(That's impressive!)

He shot 37% from the field!

(That's equally impressive!)

He's not NBA material!

He belongs playin' somewhere in the backwaters of Europe!

(If his father isn't King James ... he doesn't even get drafted!)

They are nothing more than a Laker, father/son, roadshow!

That shtick is gunna old real fast!

Lebron and Bronny are a bogus combo!

Like I've said: They are a shameless sideshow acquiesced by the Lakers !

The only truly qualified father/son combo on the same team ...  who were genuinely on a competitive level in their respective sport ... were the Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey Jr. '90 Mariners!

I don't think they actually played together!

I believe Bobby Bonds was actually a coach on the Giants when Barry was on the roster!

Gordie Howe definitely played with his sons on the Hartford Whalers (I believe)!

It was a pure publicity stunt ... cuz, GH had to be in his 50's and he came out of retirement to do it!

Bronnie doesn't appear to be talented enough to be in THE NBA. But lets be real, there is countless examples of people getting jobs or accepting positions that they do not qualify for solely because of their FATHERS/MOTHER/FAMILY NAME.................Lets just look at HISTORY is about to be made and you never know, they guy may turn out to be a better player later on in life.

You have valid points but lets just try and enjoy the history that is about to be made. I know if I was in Kimg James shoes I would be a proud Dad. Dad's SECRETLY hope/wish/want their sons to be just like them.

Bronnie has a Dad with a killer resume. He probably will never ever be able to fill his Dad's shoes but lets see how things go, maybe he can be a good player.

I think you are correct, they did not play together but they were much better than The Griffeys.

Change the rules now?  You did not say "played together" only on the same team and at a competitive level  Bobby was an excellent player and then coach, Barry an other worldly player.  They fit your stated spec.

Shameless sideshow? Ok. LeBron is one of the best players in history without question. And you seemingly forget the NBA is a business in market to make healing piles of money. And this is a huge opportunity to do just that. Bronny has a 4 year contract. We’ll see how it pans out in that time. And The Lakers have a full roster. They didn’t say Bronny was in the starting 5. He can come off the bench if needed.

Happens everyday in corporate? He who has the best sponsor gets the jobs and promotions, not he who has the experience and accolades.

Even without the juice Barry Bonds was the greatest player of all time (until Otani arrived on the scene)!

For context, BB was so indomitable ... that during the '04 season he was intentionally walked 120 times!

(Wrap your mind around THAT!)

He was so feared, he was so lethal when he stepped into the batter's box ... that he was walked with the bases loaded!

And you really can't blame BB for juicin'-up!

BB looked at the #s the infamous juicers ( Mark McGuire, Jose Canseco, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Ken Caminitti, Mike Piazza, Juan Gonzales, Brady Anderson et al.) ... were putting up!

(How about Julio Franco? A broken-bat, opposite-field, upper-deck HR!)

WTF?

And he said to himself: "I'm better than all those guys!"

AND HE WAS!

The other night Bronny had a 2-point game!

(And that's against G-League players!)

How many points is he gunna score when he's got a shutdown defender on him?

Ms Audrey, I know this for a fact because I have EXPERIENCED it a COUNTLESS number of times in my career. I had just moved to the East Coast (Wash D.C.) and this guy asked me 3 times, "Are you sure you don't know anybody in this area". I actually knew a number of people but none in this particular field that I was applying for. Funny thing, my RESUME was packed with enough to get me hired at THE PENTAGON but it didn't matter LOL, they hired based off of who you know, not what you know. Speeding up the story, I was at the top of the company in less than 2 years but quit and returned to good old Colorado. The one guy is now over the entire East Coast Region and wants me to come back but Washington D.C./The East Coast is definitely not my cup of tea.

Let me ask you a question? Lets say that you had a son that just joined TOB LOL, and he got all types of FLACK because he's not as good as you. I mean just imagine, he's chasing after women that you yourself would never look at and he's getting PIMP SLAPPED/ROLLED/ROBBED. What would you do?

I was at the game at Coors Field when he tied the Home Run Record. I just love being part of HISTORY. It was just a line drive home run, nothing special about it at all except for that sweet spot sound of connecting that wood. Is there any PROOF that he actually use to use STEROIDS or continuous SPECULATION?

(I'D TAKE HIM to The WOODSHED!)

I'd straighten him out!

Then:

I would mentor him!

I would point him in the right direction!

I would show him the way!

I would show him how it's done!

I would flatten his learning curve!

I would show him how to be "a student of the game"!

i.e.,

How to develop street-smarts; how to separate the wheat from the chaff; how to identify low-information providers; how to read reviews; peruse websites; and connect the dots!

(So that he might benefit from my vast boots-on-the-ground, in-the-trenches experience!)

I can assure you under my tutelage he will no longer be venturing to the hood ... to hook-up with some low-information hood rat and be "getting PIMP SLAPPED/ROLLED/ROBBED"!

(Those days will be over!)

He's gunna be takin' his mongering to "the next level"!

i.e.,

He's gunna be spendin' his time and $$$ on PRIME, MINT-CONDITION, NUBILE, GFE P##SY!

From here on out ... He's Gunna Be Livin' Large!

(I'm gunna impart to him the fine art of being a DATY/DATO Aficionado (with Reddi Wip))!

Close, Gordie played with his sons on the Houston Aeros of the old WHA.  But kudos to you for remembering that Gordie Howe did play for the Whalers, and he did come out of retirement to play with his sons.  In fact it was one year after he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.  It was a little before my time so I don't know how well he played.
