Posted January 11, 2023 Without doubt one of the greatest guitarists ever, regardless of genre. This one hurts. Scary thing is fellow Yardbirds greats Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page are about the same vintage as well as Carlos Santana and Keith ruined a thousand dead pools Richards. Arguments of who the greatest ever would be could go on forever and I try to avoid, but Mr. Beck would have to enter such conversations . Plus by all accounts a good guy at that. Sad. Posted January 12, 2023 Great Guitarist. He will be missed. Meningitis is a quick killer. Hard to treat and recover from. Back in the late 60's, I had a good friend who was a jock and class leader go home sick one afternoon with what we all thought was the flu. He was dead by the next morning.
