The things we remember

I was driving through a part of town I don’t usually frequent.  As a passed an apartment complex the image flashed through my head of sitting in that parking lot, waiting for the room number, when I received a text cancelling our appointment.  This happened 5 years ago😱

As I drive through the DTC, I get flashes from just about every apartment building and hotel.  Ahhh, memories.

I remember the first girl I took to a room. We drove to a motel and I went in and checked in.  She was in my car.  I went out and got her. We walked down the hallway to the room. It was room 169. When we got to the door, she let out a laugh and said how appropriate.

It's student housing now, but when it was the Regency Hotel, I probably saw more providers there, than any other single location.

This thread has brought back some fond memories.  When I drive into certain neighborhoods, I remember the fun times I've had with some lovely ladies.  Same with driving by certain hotels.  Good memories from some good times.  Makes me smile.  :)

Ah yes, The Four Points, had my most memorable overnights there. Nice accommodations, reasonably priced. Also had incredible brunches to put a happy finale to those incredible nights. Was truly a shame to lose that hotel.

Back in 1989 and 1990, I took my ATF to the Manor House Motel on east Colfax several times.  The location is now a gas station.   Turns out the motel owner alleges he built a cat walk in the ceiling above the bedrooms and bathrooms in the motel.   He alleges he spied on guests having sex and going to the bathroom from the catwalk and kept decades of notes.   He even alleged that he witnessed a murder in one of his rooms.  He approached writer Gay Talese but as far as I know nothing ever came of it.    The motel itself was not memorable but the ATF (oh my, the memories!).

One of the TV stations here in Denver  ran a story in this within the last year.

If I remember correctly, nothing was ever proven true or false.

It was just his word on what happened.

I suspect it was a ploy for attention. All that effort, and not a single photo? Smells pretty fishy!

The spank bank has kept me sane through this pandemic.

An apartment complex. Still sad they tore down the Four Points.

I've seen a few ladies in hotels over the years. Tough to get too worked up or nostalgic given the general lack of ambience of the big national chains. I recall the first time I was booked at the Waldorf Astoria. Such anticipation!  Proof I'd hit the big time. The glorious lobby...followed by a 9x9 room and bathroom like our summer home outhouse when I was a kid.

It is sad! I remember they had a great Continental breakfast😉 I am with Kadunk and the rest of you!

Just how many apartment buildings does Denver area need really?  Kind of sad.
