What good are references?

So I have references from lovely ladies.  But when I am asked to send my references to a new lovely lady and they reach out to them to check everything out but do not hear back, I ask my self what good are they?  It does no good to be a reference on TOB if the new provider tries to make contact, then does not hear back from them.  Why even have the reference option to begin with?  This is very frustrating.

I don't have all the information about your situation, so I'm guessing about this. If you are trying to schedule inside 24 to 48 hours, that may not be enough time, for your references to get the message and respond. 

Personally, I use P411. It is a repository for my references, a screening tool, an advertising venue, and a communication tool. It's not perfect, but it helps cut through screening/vetting time dramatically, for me. Not all providers are P411, so that is a drawback.

I will agree about P411. Only one new girl has ever screened me more. It is as simple as ordering take out.

If I were a client, and a provider refused to return reference requests for me, I would remove my reviews for them. Go to their websites and check their "protocols" and use that as your guide for how long you'll keep your review up for them. Their logic and reasoning for references should apply to reviews as well. Fair is fair.

If you already have references here, which is similar to OK’s on p411 why is it that every woman you reach out to still requires references... which you already have? Did I misunderstand your post?

I like p411 too but what’s the difference between a reference here, and an OK from p411, other than that one is more local than the other?

Many providers verify their P411 Okays and TOB references, and ask for additional information that will help them determine if they're a good fit with a client. 

Very similar to clients back channeling regarding a provider even though they have a list of reviews.

I’ve been told this by other providers.  A TOB reference or P411 Okay are binary (yes|no),  Some ladies want a little more detail.  Having an extensive P411 profile helps, but that’s a self-review.

Those bios are extremely helpful, and I haven't met a gent yet where his bio didn't match my experience with him. I'm sure that does happen though.

I understand, but I have had only one case of this ever happening to me and it was with someone out of the state. How common is this?

Very common. I reach out to p411 okays all over the country, and vice versa.

This is why I tell my clients to contact ME FIRST so I am ready to give the reference for the provider you are interested in. Also, a good portion of us ladies don't just use references and P411 for screening so keep that in mind when you want to sign up thinking that it is going to get you through our door for an appointment. Make sure you know what us providers expect, and follow them so you can have fun.

It's Important to know exactly what a provider's reference sharing policy is BEFORE you book the appt. Especially If you're a gent that doesn't want to use your real world info, and prefer the reference friendly network. It's good to have a few badass ladies you know who will always go above and beyond to give you a reference. The sharing is caring ladies ❤

With public references (TOB or P411), I have no idea who will or won’t contact you.  I’ll just assume that you’re open to replying to requests through their system.

For explicit references, different ball game.  Let her know that she might receive a call before mentioning her as a reference

Here's where I see this backfiring.

A client by the name of Yore A. Ness, sets eyes on beautiful Jenna Talia. Some phone calls get made, an appointment gets set, and a union with Jenna Talia and Yore A. Ness is imminent.

Things ultimately turn south. Jenna and Yore prove to be a poor fit.

Yore writes a review on the Jenna Talia we're talking about here, and it's less than flattering.

Now Jenna is normally upright, straight forward and to the point. But this time no rebuttal gets written. Instead, she decides to plot revenge. She'll wait three weeks. Mind you, nobody knows Jenna Talia and Yore A. Ness ever came in contact. So Jenna calls one of the other women on his review list and pretends like she's looking for a reference. 

Normally, in the regular working world, by law I think the only thing a company can divulge on their employees is confirmation that they've worked there and at what time. Seriously, though, who really abides by that?

"So we got a resume sent to us from one of your employees. What can you tell me about Yore A. Ness?"

"He's a hard worker. He really tries, but I gotta tell you. The other day, at the urinal, I couldn't help but notice. He's got a tiny dick."

"What?!"

"I know what you're thinking. We're in sales. That's just not going to work. BUT, he does try and I don't know, you're a smaller organization. Maybe Yore A. Ness is a better fit for your staff."

So, Jenna Talia plows forward to the next lady on the list. There's a similar reference phone call.

"You know he really is efficient. Keeps the workflow tight. But..."

"But?"

"He's kind of strange. He wears a pentagram."

"Oh wow."

"Yeah, and one day he came in smelling like patchouli and Beefaroni. The man loves Beefaroni. I think he burns patchouli in his car before coming in. Normally, not a big deal, but some of the ladies on staff complained about it. We had a delicate matter on our hands. What with H.R. We couldn't approach him directly about it. I mean what do we do? And what's with the green? This guy dresses from head to toe in green. Not exactly our brand colors. But hey, you need a job done, Yore A. Ness will really put himself out there."

So armed with this intelligence, Jenna Talia heads straight for the Blacklist sites.

J.T. : I heard he had his dick shot off in the war. He can't even make it.

Skrump Shuss: Easy money.

J.T. : He came to me once. Came in carrying this dove. I couldn’t believe it. He bit the head off of it like Ozzy Osbourne.

Alize: Holy shit. Did he look like Ozzy Osbourne? 

J.T. : No. He looked more like a cross between Pippin Took and a can of green beans.

Needless to say, after weeks of shut outs and sad lonely nights, he found comfort with a can of Beefaroni and the shameful jug of a Carlo Rossi, grocery store overstock. Yore A. Ness hung his spurs up that night to muse over old Veronica Lake pinups.

I have to totally agree here.  This seems to me to be a symbiotic environment.  If everyone does his or her part, we all stay safe and happy.

Refs and posted reviews helped me several times scheduling with new ladies  here on eccie and on oh2. Some providers are smart. They use the time line and do research to make sure you are not just pretending. I only had an issue with a girl here once to the point that she scared the shit out of me. ( i have not seen her but damn she is so hot i want her so bad, though not even trying to see her)

Best reference is when one lady,after an appointment, tells her best GF in the hobby that you are cool. Happily had that happen several times over the years.
