I just discovered another way to bypass the paywall; it might actually work better as it doesn't seem to change the original format or exclude photos. And Outline.com doesn't always work with some content like "The Gazette" in COS.

Open a private/incognito browser and paste the URL of the article you’re trying to read. In Chrome,  that means selecting “New Incognito Window” from the drop down menu. Once again, Voilá.

Helpful tools are always wonderful!

Thanks Rick! Hopefully I will remember! 😊

Re: paywalls on websites: on sites like "Denverpost" etc that have a X articles a month free, can always clear cache/cookies for the site in your browser of choice (will leave that as a learning exercise as don't want to get into all the permutations of browsers, operating systems).

Akin to copy/paste in in cognito mode, install a different browser and paste the url into it. Rinse repeat above when limit hit.

Can also temporarily disable Javascript: the paywall blocks on most sites rely on JS, and disabling that many times blocks the paywall code.

It's so slowww because we cannot keep up with the expensive rent, public and private transportation, food and restaurants ... etc on top of the trendy 300and up per hr. A lot of guys struggle to make ends meet so when it comes to fun i reduced the number of sessions i have. I am always open to ladies that offer 250 per hr or offering specials. And if i like a provider that is at 300+ i tend to be patient until i can make it happen.

I just cant keep up

Yes, isn’t this the truth? It seems more difficult by the day.

I’m always willing to discuss accommodating a budget for someone that has seen me several times. It’s only fair, and in my opinion the right thing to do in these times. I know that a lot of us don’t like to be asked for discounts, but it’s different if you’ve been good to me.

What exactly is the definition of Sooo Slowwww?

Thank you so much, Rick!! i   will need to remember this tool and use it again when needed.

Or you could pay for a subscription?

Ironic to see this in a thread where furious comments abound about how inappropriate it is to be a cheapskate when it comes to providers.

Sorry, don't intend to specifically pick on you, Kali & Rick. This circumvention of paywalls is a widespread practice, but those articles do not get produced for free either.

Do you go to the grocery story and shoplift, then brag about it?

That's pretty much what this is here. In my earlier post, I said I wasn't picking on you, but now I am. If you want the product, then pay for it. If not, don't steal it.

I appreciate your perspective Yogi Also, yes I paid for the Denver Post many years worth of paper. However, when I noticed that the D.P. was starting to become and more ”one sided” and less factual. You know opinions are 1thing and everyone has a take on an issues. Yes I get that. Well, needless to say I had to drop my subscription  like a hot potato.  Nothing personal either towards you, I appreciate your opinion. I don’t like paper waisted either anymore and am a big time recycler of everything. Not that I have a strange need to defend myself. Just letting you know my perspective. Since my name is being brought up. 😊Have brought items back to the store again if I noticed I didn’t pay for it. I did this last week when I accidentally found the pack of gum in the bottom of my cart. Thank you!

Glad to hear I am not the only one! I am guessing it has to do with people vacationing or having to pay those taxes! Once it warms up and tax season is over I think things will pick up.

I wonder what the relative revenues for the DP are: paper subscriptions, online subscriptions, box/market sales, advertising?

I used to boast about Denver being a two paper town with both the DP & the RM News. I subscribed to both; read them daily.  But then I started spending week nights at my GF’s house. Since she also had both I cancelled the RMN and put the DP on weekend only.

(1) But I kept coming home Fri eve to find a Tue or Wed paper on my porch, advertising my absence.  After complaining w/o result, I cancelled the DP completely.

(2) At the GF’s house we would place vacation holds on both papers, only to return and find a stack of DP on the porch, but no RMN.

(3). A few years later RMN & DP entered a joint operating agreement. Unfortunately the DP got distribution services. You guessed it - vacation holds became meaningless. We cancelled!

(4)  Several years later we started receiving the Sunday DP - Gratis.  We’d go on vacation and come back to a stack of them on our porch.  I contacted the VP of Operations, telling him that if we ever got broken into while on vacation and there was a paper on our doorstep, I’d sue the paper as a co-conspirator.  That got their attention and stopped spurious deliveries.

(5)  I might look at the headlines (a free service) once/week, just to keep track of Denver events when out of town.  I find about one DP article/month that I’m interested in reading. Often it’s a nationally syndicated columnist.  I search for that column elsewhere.

IMHO the DP is not worth a subscription fee, especially as seldom as I bother to read it!  Perhaps they’re useful for the bottom of the dodo cage.

You’re correct.  Circumventing their pay-wall is theft,  but not exactly free because I had to wade through their advertising to find something interesting.  I should probably rely on the many other “free” news services available online.  Local news is available on several of the TV station websites.

I completely agree with you, recently a client of mine who I had been seeing weekly for a few months had to cancel his appointment because of some financial issues he was having, rather than canceling the appt I gave him a free session, I felt it was the least I could do for his loyalty!

I often today after canceling my subscription over a year ago. Still find the orange plastic wrapped paper in my drive or walk way up to my place. I am totally with Bit on the news paper being nothing but ads also.

It is not about getting something free! You are sadly mistaken by taking that sort of approach with any of us here. I don’t watch much tv news either (local news is only opinions). Too many commercials on the TV is driving me nuts! So with both the news paper and the tV we are watching and wading through countless advertisements and very little is actual news.  True informative information is diminishing from our lives.  When you subscribe to anything you must always pay and pay again! Not sure when things changed? I had this same discussion with some close friends last night. 20 minutes of tv program and over a hour of commercial? What’s that about?!

Wake up Yogi! We are not the evil ones here! We are the ones who remember paying for something of quality and actually getting something of value in life. Don’t even know when things went down hill?! 🤨

I would love to know what show you watched that was ~80 minutes in length and you only got 20 minutes of actual show. Don’t get me wrong, there are some ad heavy shows out there but this seems a bit much. And also, where do you get your news? As in, your specific news sources.

As for the “when” part the advent of the internet and a heavy move towards digital content that you can easily consume on the fly and the loss of revenue from paper is when paywalls really started happening. If one medium is dying instead of staying on track with that slow death a lot of the ones capable of changing and moving to online did so. The content still costs so they charge for that service. It’s not hard to see or understand why paywalls are prevalent even if we don’t agree with the content being pushed out.

Weather the storm all business go through ups and downs. I never do sales or discounts in my personal business it only attracts clients I don’t want in the future. Stay visible, stay consistent, reach out to those good clients that have given you the ok to do so . The best advice is from Laci take a little time for you... personal investment always brings a return. Reach out to some of the other ladies who have been in business and ask for help the good, successful ones will be happy to help with advice,  just as in any professional group the most successful are always willing to help.

BBC is about all I watch for news. I also have enjoyed some of the popular net works and yes I am not kidding when I notice most of the show is commercials... So, back to what I was stating you pay your cable bill monthly service charge. Yes? Well, I also  figure you must pay again because the average consumer of paid TV also has ads to watch too.  Such a “win win”! I think not!

I cut the cord years ago. I do have a couple premium streaming services that are commercial free, but no network tv in the traditional sense for me.

I am not very technologically inclined. Right now my TV is screwed up.i like Netflix but I can’t seem to get it to come up on my TV. now. So, I have been trying to just not watch it at all. Focused on other things. 😊

Its the annual.."why is it so slow " topic. This is true everywhere. People are paying taxes, paying off Christmas credit card bills etc and just tight on money this time of the year. When I was in LA these past few months, people were saying the same thing. Its not just escorts, during my time as a strip club DJ in the 80s,we had this same slow season. Best to budget yourself and save for slow season and enjoy your own life away from the industry.Or,as others have said...tour. My ex said many times that she made more $ as the  (her words, not mine )  "the fresh meat in town' when she toured. Sadly,my money has gone to medical bills (see out of action thread )after returning from CA, and its good to have saved for that rainy day.

Just out of curiosity, what do you consider to be "this time of year ", January 1 - December 31 ?

Well that certainly was nice of you.

Hopefully some providers take your lead or at least think of a bogo!
