I'm making my first turkey this year. I usually make the sides and desserts. Nope, nothing creative with it, just trying not screw it up. I might just buy a turkey already cooked for a back up. 😂

A back up turkey is a great idea! Left overs for days

Have you tried deep fried turkey? Would you recommend it ?

No, I've never tried it. I'm sure we have others who can chime in on deep fried turkeys. We have some really good cooks here with us! ❤

My friend is cooking his first turkey this year too, he's brining his. Mmm... I'm keeping it simple for my first one though.

Good luck to you both.

PS. Filling it with a good moist stuffing will help keep it from drying out.( no innuendos intended).

I'm making old fashioned southern cornbread dressing, so it won't be going in the bird. Like my grandmas. 😊

Deep fried done right is amazing.  Just keep it outside so you don’t set the house on fire.

Smoked turkey is also a great way to go.

Sounds great.  What time should I be there for dinner?

Mine is already in the brine. I use my own recipe. One I have perfected over several years. Then slow smoked starting tomorrow.

Good luck to all the turkey roasters!!!

I don't know about dinner time, but we'll all have a lot of extra calories to burn off after Thanksgiving!

Hmm...🤔😁😉😎

Ya’all enjoy yourselves. No holiday for jez. I am working a double shift at my real life job.  But it’s ok,  I don’t have any family that give a shit so I might as well be making  money.  ☘️

Gonna start cooking in about an hour.  Pretty traditional.  Turkey, stuffing, homemade creamed corn and pumpkin pie (I bought the pie, did not make it).  Dinner for me and 7 friends about 4 this afternoon.  Even more important than the food is contacting family and friends to let then know how much I appreciate them.

Good wishes for everyone to have a joyful day.
