Whatcha got cookin'

43 posts in this topic

What are you all having for dinner on this cold and ice night?

I'm harkening back to my child hood when my dad would cook for us on Sunday nights.

So introducing tradition to our kids.

Fried salami and eggs....

Hebrew national salami - can't be any other type

A good Jewish rye bread, or good bagel for variety

Some eggs

And mustard if you please, I don't please but most do.

And then the

pièce de ré·sis·tance

a bottle of YooHoo (could not find bottles had to settle for cans, not the same but will pass)

So what do you have cooking on this cold night?

cauliflower and green snap peas half cup of each, (neither cooked) with a slice of Swiss cheese. I often practice fasting on the weekends with drinking coffee, tea, and water/vinegar, water  Tonight was my OMAD (one meal a day) instead of fasting. Trying to tame Cthulhu:D Raw is often better than cooked for me.

Na...Some days are better than other. All I can tell you is that if I eat sugar it's all over for me! My head will feel like it is in a vice. Horrible, horrible headache I will get with sugar.  I fallow Dr. Eric Berg on Youtube, Keto diet. I have a few health issues and doing my best to not end up diabetic and I also suffer from some digestive issues. https://keto.drberg.com/keto-101-for-beginners/?gclid=

Got to do what's best for you, you know your body best.  I have some friends doing keto too. I prescribe to more of an everything in moderation approach. Could eat better and could it eat worse.

I got a roast, seared it with seasonings, and then added mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, peppers, and green beans into it.  Now, I am going to steal one of my kid's piece of candy for desert. LOL!

Yum, sounds great and perfect day for a roast.

I also stole some candy from my kids stash. Next week it all comes to my office so everyone there can eat it instead of us

I do all the cooking on the weekends when I’m home.

Homemade pizzas with homemade dough.

One with sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage and green chilis.

The other with olive oil, roasted garlic cloves, black olives and green chilis.

A pound of elk sausage, 1 can of pinto beans, A pond of dried pork, a can of black beans, 1 pond of ground turkey, a can of red kidney beans, a can of white pinto beans, a can of tomato sauce, 1 can of Rotel,  one can of diced tomatoes anyway you like them. A tsp and a half of chile powder, a tbs of Worcestershire, one nice ripe nicely diced Jalapeno peppers without the pith. OMG, good stuff!

Sounds delicious, but did you read my mind ?  That is what I made last weekend.  Yesterday I made stuffing and today I am starting Thanksgiving a bit early by doing a nice seasoned rub on a whole turkey breast.  So I'm hoping tonight's dinner will tickle the taste buds.
