No Shave November - Are You Doing It

56 posts in this topic

Well, here it is the middle of November.  Halfway through No Shave November.

Is anybody doing the No Shave?

If so, how is it going for you?

Are you going to go all the way to the end of the year?

Ladies, please, no. You don't have to get down to the hardwood, but please, no medieval bush...

Sorry... Waxed it all off. So does that still count as no shave Nov??

Technically, yes since it’s not a shave.

But in the spirit of no shave, I’d say to really qualify, the bush should be growing.

Well that definitely brings certain visions to mind.

I’m going to have personally investigate this claim of no shave.

Yes, I am not shaving but, sadly, the beard is no longer the color it once was.

Lol I love hair on guys and don't mind it at all but safe to say I'll never participate in no shave november haha I prefer silky and smooth. Being freshly shaved with clean sheets after a bath feels so luxurious!

My last Brazilian was early October. Just found a place in the RGV (recommended by a friend).  Probably after Dec 1st I’ll give them a try.

But I gotta keep my rep about shaving my head.

I'm with you on that one, have to shave my head. Everything else can grow though.

I’ve been doing it for 10+ years. Had to stop for a while after they cracked my chest; couldn’t get my hands that high.

I do it every year. My goal is the keep the beard through the end of the year, but usually break down and shave around the end of the month.

You guys wouldn't have to shave if you did enough u-turns under the sheets. :P

Sheets? We don’ need no stinkin’ sheets!

Besides, it’s too damn hot(*). We’d roast under there.

(*) Actually we had a freeze warning last night. It’s terrible!  Everybody is wearing clothes 😟

I’m in and will do for another year.

For those just now attempting to grow beard for the first time and get annoyed with the look or itch...get a good beard brush, shampoo, conditioner, and balm/wax.  I know it sounds like a lot but it helps keep things in order, skin less irritated, and beard softer. After the month hit a barber and have it shaped up if you’re afraid to do it yourself. Beard maintenance is clutch.

I wear a stache all the time so November doesn’t change much for me.

Beards come.  Beards go.

But the ‘stache has graced my upper lip since ‘69.

No more beards for me.  In my mid 30's my beard already had quite a lot of gray.  Had a mustache for 30+ years, but shaved it off when it turned almost a white gray (and my hair was still brown).  Now I've got as much gray as brown.  This getting older thing takes some mental adjustment to the physical changes.  Sometimes I struggle with it.  Sometimes I am more accepting.

I'll be shaving or trimming during November (in a couple of places). ;)

I've had a beard since 77 but always kept it short and soft. "Just the beard though". :P

I thought I'd look "GOT cool" or "Viking Cool" but I just ended up looking homeless.

Ding! Ding! Ding! I just look like a bald homeless hobo if I don't shave. :o
