Why the reluctance to take credit and debit cards?

56 posts in this topic

Convenience is a big thing for me.  I often act on the spur of the moment and my bank may be across town.  Once I consider that drive and then another drive to meet up with a sweet thang, all that Denver driving has "de-mooded" me.

So perhaps all you all can give me a bit of insight.

You can skip the response that "it leaves a paper trail".

PS, dont be afraid to point out some providers that do take cards if you would.

Muchas Gracias.

Why on earth would you want a record of your spending in this hobby? This has to be one of the stupidest things I have heard in a very long time. Cash is and will always be king!

Really?  Thats what your thoughtful mind comes up with Seaker?  Shallow... shallow, shallow.

Personally,, I don't want the hassles of that. Monthly payment for the swiper..and whatever fees,,, for me it isn't worth the hassles, but I am just getting started...maybe down the road it may be a thought. For now,, cash is best in my book 😍😍

I agree with what Kandi mentioned about reversing charges. I’ve heard of that happening often in this hobby, unfortunately. If using a card, you can connect it to Venmo, Cashapp and Apple Pay, etc. I’ve been known to accept  Venmo (under my business name) from guys that I trust. It can be reversed as well, but I’ve been good so far.👍

Have you ever heard of the term “ATM”?

They are everywhere.

That eliminates having to run to the bank.

Mayne get yourself a separate account that only you can access and use an ATM to get the cash.

The problem with credit and debit cards, guys can pay for a session and then disputed the charges later claiming his card was hacked and the lady winds up with nothing.

CASH IS KING!

Doesn't your bank have branches you can withdraw from ??   Mine has them all over town, as well as in grocery stores.

Oh my gosh same shit happened to me, but he didn’t make it right and now I’m in the negative and can’t accept payment from others because it’ll just pay off what the cock blocking spouse did. I’d love to take CC but just can’t because of these kinds of issues. Smh

OK, following your moronic instructions, I won’t mention that it leaves a paper trail. Nope, won’t even consider that all-important and overriding issue. Won’t even think about Charlie Sheen on the witness stand explaining his paper trail.

Hey, you’re right, if you skip the important facts, it doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

Paper trails and I don’t want the Government in my business! 17 years ago I took credit cards, PayPal got to walk away with 3k of my hard earned money. Never again! Plus, do you know how many times people reverse charges on their cards? 1 is too many, but a lot of guys do it. I only do it with long time friends that I know well! Very well!

Two words, Apple Pay. It cannot be reversed with IOS 12, because you have to verify the amount before you send it to the receiver. Also if the client attempts to reverse the transaction apple will be willing to help you keep your hard earned funds. Not to mention what is the sending party going to say, my phone was stolen but they were still placing calls and accessing things that only the owner would repeat again. Apple, will not allow the funds to be reversed without a police report.

This.

The big banks are everywhere. 7-11s have ATMs.

If have a credit union, and looking for a Co-op affiliated ATM, can see that being an issue (my CU is affiliated with them, so, no ATM fee at those), but even then can be found online via the Co-op website, and can make a note of where some of these are on the way to usual visit locales (I pass by 4 of 6 CUs that have Co-op ATMs on my route(s) to visit ladies, and 7-11 ATMs are Co-op friendly as well).

ATMs will allow, depending on your bank, up to $400-500/day. Some banks are higher. So not an issue to get the proper donation.

And if don't want to pay an ATM fee, why not? Some ladies that do take CC charge an extra $10-20 to use CC, to cover the processor's transaction fee (3-5%/swipe). $2.50-5.00 ATM fee will save a couple of bucks.

Apple Pay or Apple Pay Cash?

Just curious, because from what I recall, Apple Pay is really not much different than a "standard" CC transaction. My understanding, everything goes through a credit card processor, so, their liability rules/process apply. Ditto card issuer re: disputes. And because of this, you do see where processors like Square might pull the plug on an account when they figure out what the charges are really for and are violating their T&Cs.

Apple Pay Cash on the other hand does seem like it is tougher to reverse a transaction as need to send to a valid Apple ID account, provide finger print or face id. And it's a direct transfer from one Apple account to another, so, not waiting for stuff to clear with a processor.

But, in the end, everyone needs to be in the Apple ecosphere for this to work.

One word. Cash.

Credit cards, paypal, apple pay, google wallet and on and on are GREAT for transactions where your real name, address, bank information and documentation of transaction are good things. NONE of that is good in hobby.

Some reasons I might not want to take cards...

1) 2 to 4% goes to the processor

2) Sometimes they get declined

3) Sometimes the CC processor is unavailable

4) Uncle Sam knows exactly what I was paid

5) Some cards have been stolen

6) Chargebacks happen

That said, I do take cards, but I wouldn't if I was an escort...

My suggestion...next time you go to the bank, stash 3 or 4 hundred in a hidey hole in your car. :)

Words of wisdom people. ;)

Apple Cash, not to mention granted as growl stated there is a paper trail. But it is 2018, everywhere and everything each one of does is tracked. ATM's have facial recognition. Most stores in major cities like Los Angeles are now using the biometric/ facial recognition software to welcome returning patrons into there establishments. Adware, from Youtube to various social media sites are developed around your present location that your device's IP address pings you. So granted PayPal, its affiliate Venmo (Yes they are under the same company umbrella) allow may consumers the liberty to retract payment. If you want to process payment you need to obtain an EIN, then business license through the secretary of state, legitimate associated business financial institution and account. If you do that then you can obtain a merchant processor that does not have crazy % or fees for transactions. Also is protects both parties from actual fraud and/or identity theft. Not to mention the business name can be anything thing that is not already with a trademark or registered within the registered business state. It really not that hard to do and its is legal.

To be fair, I did pay with a CC at the Love Ranch and Bunny Ranch in Carson City, when I visited them. Good luck finding an ATM that'll spit out what those visits cost! But in Colorado... I wouldn't consider paying with anything but cash, and I don't think I would see someone who asked for a different method of payment (though I guess I might consider paying with gold coin if a lady requested... but if I were a lady, I wouldn't accept those if they were offered).

The hobby is legal in Carson City,so no worries about a paper trail there. Outside of some parts of Nevada (still illegal in Las Vegas ,Reno and Lake Tahoe )... agree with you that...cash is king...period.

With ATMs and bank branches everywhere....stating that someone has to go clear across town to their bank is at best..a very weak excuse.

How are your comprehension skills?   Bad Boy called my instructions "moronic",  Seeker 5280 chimed in as well calling me stupid.  My Wheaties are just fine.   There just seems to be a bunch of the same ol' internet troll mentality that some people just cant shake.

My comprehension skills are a hell of a lot better than yours.

Seeker said your suggestion was stupid.  He didn’t say you were stupid.

Bad Boy said your instructions were moronic.  He didn’t call you a moron.

There is a huge difference between saying something that was said was stupid or moronic and actually saying a person is stupid or a moron.

Your reply’s sound to me like you want to pick a fight with anyone who disagrees with you.

Very unfortunate you feel that way.
