Posted August 14, 2018 Just spent a few minutes reading all the threads concerning "When Providers retaliate". Goodness gracious! I much prefer the topic of "Second Chances" I can still remember the first days of TOB. How incredible it was to have a website where I could see the pics of young ladies. How exciting it was to be able to see contact info, see times she was available. Maybe even services she offered. Holy Mooley. Compared to where it is now TOB was pretty crude then but it was a huge leap from "The Oyster", the adult services section of West Word. The tiny little box ads on the back pages of "The Rocky Mountain News. Those first few years did not offer reviews. There was no way to pm and there were no forums. Contacting a lady on TOB still pretty much meant a phone call. Imagine that, two people actually talking to one another. Hearing their voice, the subtle inflections, a gentle laugh or giggle. Call me crazy or old fashion but I can so much easier decide to see a young lady if I like her voice, her laugh, her tone. So much, IMHO, so much is just not discernable in a text, an email, a pm. Sure The words are there. The info is there but the warm is not. Over the years I have met some way cool people here. I have been privileged to enjoy the charms of some incredible ladies. A few I call friends. A few still bring a smile when I think of them. Yeah, I have had my share of crash and burn, huge mistakes and rip-offs but on the whole lot of fun. Just plain fun. I think sometimes we lose track of what TOB can provide. I suppose black lists are necessary. Reviews can be helpful. But so often, at least to me, TOB is drama, hard feelings, can't do this, don't do that. I don't trust you, she did this, he did that. I am an old fart. I am old school, set in my ways but sometimes with all the technology, lists, screens, filters, handles, screen names, text only I think we loose track of what TOB should be about.. FUN!!! Posted August 15, 2018 I agree with you! Unfortunately, since the closing of BP, we have lots of dishonest people trying to ply their scams on this board. It makes everybody, who's honest, unhappy, and we all have to work harder to demonstrate we are not scammers. I don't see things changing in the near future. All of us honest people will simply need to be patient, and communicate as openly and honestly, with each other, as possible. That is why I value people like you (and a number of others) who have been around for a while and who keep the spirit of TOB going strong. Posted August 19, 2018 We did not have Hobby phones. We had center consoles and driver side door pockets full of quarters. Does anyone remember the panic when cities ruled that payphones could not receive incoming calls? You could call the young lady but at some point, in the mid 80's, I believe, many cities and phone carriers prevented the pay phones from accepting the return call.
