Am I the only one who wonders....

Hi gents,  Am I the only one who wonders why guys put in their reviews phrases like:  I will keep the details to myself or I don't like to kiss and tell, or other such related verbiage.

They are writing a REVIEW some level of details are required, or at least requested.  Right?  I would be greatly pleased if the reviewers stated if a provider is GFE or not.  That would be very helpful.

Just my thoughts.

GFE has different meanings for different people.

TOB is not like the old TER or ECCIE where they want you to provide all the down and dirty details. On TOB, we try to keep it classy and let readers know if a great time was enjoyed or not.

Theres no harm in saying if there was convo, cuddling, a great makeout session.

As you know, the ladies, men and TOB in general is under a lot of scrutiny these days. The less said in fantasy reviews, the better.

A lot of the ladies nowadays do not want any details in a review. You can always pm the reviewer, have had a lot of pms about reviews. BR hobby well and prosper.

I almost always discuss with her, what my review contents will contain. That way she’s not blind sided by anything I may or may not include.

The only time I don’t discuss it is if it’s going to be a So So, negative, or NCNS review.

My opinion is that the reviewer wants to to keep her to himself. If that’s true, why bother with a review?

I always want to be respectful of the ladies I've seen, and also want reviews to give enough information to be helpful to the gents on the board.  With the changes, I've tried to be creative with my wording and am open to people PM'ing me.  I figure reviews can help both sides of the equation.

I also ask each lady if she wants to have a review on TOB.  So far most have said, "Yes".

In my opinion there are at least three different reasons:

1. Legal issues: Nowadays the less being made public, the better. Not that this will help if the time comes to face LE but it's just another layer of security.

2. Ladies' preferences: Not all the ladies want people to assume that the "activities" they provided to you are available to the general public. Maybe because it depends on the client, the connection, hygiene level, etc. This is called YMMV

3. Personality of the reviewer: Not all guys like sharing pornographic details of their intimate sessions, but want to contribute by letting everybody know that she is legit and the general mood of the session. This might be because they consider listing the activities or acronyms less than elegant, out of respect for the ladies dignity or simply because they have a more reserved personality.

Specific details of activities between consenting adults at a particular point in time are just that. They do not predict anything. They affect the sense of the review, but reporting them are not the review. Just as Reviews in the papers are opinion and not point-by-point reporting, TOB reviews are opinions meant to give a sense of whether a particular "show" is right for you. In my opinion, less is more. The discerning reader will understand.

Oh, and I always, pass my reviews by my ladies before posting here or on any other site. I've never had one worried I'd kiss and tell.

They’re just being gentlemen. I don’t understand why it matters. I prefer to visit with friends who are wanting to see ME. It feels so weird/non authentic when someone has a list of boxes to check off during our date. :-(  I’d prefer to ha e a much like real life experience for that short time we’re together.

I have given this a lot of thought about what to put in a review. Never have liked the "play by play" reviews because I think it puts pressure on the provider to do the same for the next client. GFE is YMMV. I have included an activity line in my reviews. Would more welcome feedback from the ladies, either here or a pm, related to whether they think an activity line should be included. I know reviews have two purposed, help the provider get business and let the client have an idea what to expect. Hard, at least for me to find the balance.

On the same topic, reviews. I have requested admin., and they told me I was the only one who had made the request, that a review could "sit", be modified, for a certain amount of time, like 24 hrs. before it has to be submitted. Easier to copy and pass on to the provider or modify after additional thought has been given.

Since I write a draft outside TOB and paste it into PM for the lady to review first, I have plenty of time and ways to revise before pasting the final into the review form. Just how I do it.

This is a fantastic idea.  Unless, you send them what you write as a bad review.  Not sure that one should be sent for editing first :D

I realize there numerous ways to write a draft of a review outside of TOB if you are not sharing a home computer. My thought there might be more than one member in the same position as far as computer access is concerned and it would be an opportunity to reflect before submitting. A draft of a review of Suzy Q provider found in Word, or where ever, would not bring peace and tranquility to the home front. Also, if there was a temp TOB file it would just take one copy and paste to send it to the provider which would be more efficient.

I am sure that I am the type of reviewer that the OP was referring to.  I dont/won't write play by play reviews.  We are all individuals with different personalities here and it is just not in my personality makeup to write a review that way.  Just the way I am and not going to apologize for that.  Maybe it's my upbringing, maybe my refusal to commoditize the wonderful ladies I have spent time with or maybe I just look at things differently.  However I have shared additional details with others via PM.  But public reviews, in my opinion, should be less about the checked boxes and more about the overall experience.  If you want to ask about something specific shoot a PM to a recent reviewer.  Just my thoughts.......

Well said, my friend.  I will never give explicit details in a public review, but I’m willing to share more details through PM.

The good ole days of TOB are no longer, its a new era. We old timers from TOB past just adjust, go with the flow. FYI, I have been requesting no reviews for almost 3 years now

I would prefer if reviews had no "naughty details." I have found that they are wildly subjective. I'm not saying that what happened between the reviewer and the providers isn't what happened. But, I have learned that my experience will be different. Not worse or bad, just different. But, it is tough to not have preconceived notions from a review or reviews. I'm not blaming reviewers. They're helpful and useful -- even if not always popular with providers.

I wonder if there is a way to split reviews where the fairly objective, logistical details are in one section, then the commentary is in aonther that can be accessed via a "Read more..." link?
