Cool Texas Air

20 posts in this topic

Hey Y'all...I'm headed back to Denver this afternoon and I'll try and bring some cool (96 degree) Texas air with me.

I'm trying to get the Texas way of speaking down since I'm going to be going back and forth for several weeks.

:D:D

Factually “y’all” is spelled correctly though colloquially “ya’ll” is more prevalent. And don’t be afraid to sprinkle it in a bit more

“Hey ya’ll! I’m headed on back to Denver later today and ,well, I reckon ya’ll could stand to use some of this cool 96 degrees to beat the heat. I’ll see ya’ll in a bit now. “

Gon’ give that there a spin.

There's actually a grammatical difference:

  • y'all translates to "you all"
  • ya'll translates to "you will"

Not that anyone who can't keep your and you're straight would notice.

Social media is a nightmare for a recovering grammar nazi.

I actually never knew that! Growing up it was always spelled “ya’ll” to mean you all.

Edit: where did you get this? I mean we did say “you’ll” so I’m curious.

It was hotter in Denver...Dallas only hit 100 I believe.

Whataburger is 1/2 mile down the street.  I’ll bring you a single all the way with mustard and a coke.  Just have to get it through TSA.😳

Well TSA confiscated your burger. Said it was not in the approved list.

Personally I think he was hungry. He started salivating when he saw the bag.

You’ll just have to come to Austin while I’m here and I will feed you all the Whataburger you can eat. 😂

Here I sit at a “QT” with a Wataburger shop across the street and 98 F on my truck temperature gauge in Denton TX. And with daydreams of Ms. Laci, I swear I’m gonna melt.

Yeah...not so much!  But I understand where you are coming from.

I must have passed 4-5 Whataburger stands on my way to SPi...and it was only a 40 Mile drive 😀

I miss so much about Texas except that heat.  Try and stay cool my friend and drink tons of water.

Maybe I've been in the wrong places in Texas but never noticed what I would call cold weather. Always always have a fun time need to enjoy the Heat

Damn near froze my ass off in Dalhart one year.  The Panhandle is notorious for it's blizzards.

And yes, we had snow (well, 1/2") in The Valley last December.

I’ve been through Dalhart in late November. Never know what kind of weather you’re going to see.
