Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) She wanted to take this waltz but my drunken Irish feet kept catching on fire. This creature knew I was in love with brilliant honey and gold. She knew copper was my secret lover, knew I worked with her in my shop. A loose bone moves beneath the surface, broken but still one of Gia’s perfect creatures. I can still swing my hammer. Chanxty found me in my shop. She did what all the fae girls do when they turn silly and fall in love with a man. She hid my damn hammer and played her tricks. Chanxty knows how much I fall into her inky black eyes her pouty lips. Hair the color of tar, wings a vibrant purple. She teased me and eventually I succumbed to her Loki magic. I talked to her but Chanxty knew I was just a sad boy. She said “That is the immediacy of men, because they are made from a bolt lightening. Sit in your kitchen naked with your legs half crossed, you old Roman soldier. I’m hardly one to judge. But after 500 years we need each other, and I have to admit, after drinking tea with you I’m in love.” But men are maladroit so I told Chanxty, “That’s not tea, sweetheart. It’s Beluga Russian vodka.” Chanxty - hiccup. Me- “I killed that rabbit outside. Made something of its meat and sewed his pelt into my sagum”. She moaned with the tiniest whimper and passed out draped over the inside of my left ankle. “Goodnight Chanxty.
