I'd love to hear your report and cliff notes. This is kind of a scary time.

Suggest that nude photos and describing ones talents in detail,be eliminated from the ads with those ,seem to be disappearing.

The workshop was about a quarter facts, a quarter smoke & mirrors and half begging for money to fight the new laws. Basically,my cliff notes agree that nudity and explicit descriptions of what a client would experience should be toned down,if not eliminated. The government wants to shut down escorting on the internet , not just human trafficking of minors. TOB has taken great strides to comply.Round of applause.

Thanks for the update! So in other words, the government is taking this country back to the intolerant 1600's when it was dirty to engage in this kind of behavior. It's great to see TOB making the moves to comply. It's one more reason I'm happy to be part of this community.

More like they do not want the industry to hire and exploit those under 21 .  Forgot to add that escorts should no longer advertise being teenagers to the above post That said, this does remind me of when the State of Colorado passed a law forbidding the distribution of periodicals containing nudity to anyone under 21 . Thats why 7-11 took them out (Playboy etc ) and some places put them behind the counter in a bag. They took in a step further and took them out of liquor stores...which made no sense as one has to be 21 to be in there. The Oyster complied and took out all nudity (topless included ) and toned down the language in the escort ads. We adapted and survived while the competition crashed and burned . (Sadly,it only went under when the owner died )

and yet an 18-20 year old can take her clothes off in a strip club. The laws in this state baffle me.

Actually you have made a blanket statement that is not 100 % true.  That really depends on what CITY the strip club is in ,at least in did back when I was a club DJ in the 1980s. Pretty sure that is still true .

What is baffling to me,was that an 18-20 yr old male could walk into a "pop shop " (non alcohol strip club ) and watch a totally nude stripper, yet not be able to go to a 21 yr and old strip club (because they sold booze ) ,whose patrons could only watch a dancer strip to a g string.

I was the disc jockey  at Shotguns in the 80's when that particular liquor law went into effect. At the stoke of midnight that night, no longer could the girls strip nude there ,they had to stop at the g string and were required (at that time ) to wear two of them. (one over the other ) . The reasoning ? They consider that a public hair in a beer (and all alcohol drinks ) would be a health hazard. Oddly enough, they were not worried that about a pubic hair falling into a coke ,coffee, or glass of water .

Subtle reminder. This new law is about  alleged human trafficking......not stripping.  Not all strippers are escorts and not all escorts are strippers.

I guess I've only been to clubs in Denver and Glendale and I swear I've met dancers that were 18 or 19. At least they said they were that age. Anyhow, the non-full nude law baffles me too.

Anyhow, the non-full nude law baffles me too.

You may find the following true story informative and funny.  The same month that the g strings were permanently on the strippers in the alcohol clubs . I accompanied one of the clubs dancers to a "bachelor party " in an apartment building. She did her show ,went nude, and made a ton of tips. Afterwards, when she was dressed and we were saying goodbye . The men she entertained pulled out badges and said she was under arrest. Having researched  the new law thoroughly myself . I looked at the officer in charge and asked him what the charges were. He picked up a beer bottle and stated " She took off her g string with liquor present." I then asked him to present his liquor licensed and asked how an apartment could be zoned for selling liquor.  By the blank look on his face, I explained that he had to have one in order to arrest her .That it was a violation ONLY of a liquor license for her to be jailed. Told him to call someone above him and have me talk to him or be sued for false arrest. Amazingly, he complied.  Minutes later,  he was straightened out ,we were apologized to and left.

we got as far as the car and as I opened her door, said police officer and his buddies surrounded us and demanded their money back. Apparently it was city money and not theirs,to spend for entrapment. I looked him straight in the eye and stated that for them to keep the money for evidence,we would have to have broken the law and that we had not. They backed off and let us leave.

Thank goodness she was a dancer only and nothing else.

To this day I wonder how he explained what happened to his superiors..but that really did happen and just shows how confusing the new law was at that time.

Did have a happy ending, the dancer gave me a huge percentage of the money she earned as a tip. Taking the time to learn the law inside and out..paid off.
