#SESTA #FOSTA, and your thoughts? It's really big with SWOP advocates and may more for sure. Will it be able to handle the political battle in the courts to follow?

I keep hearing VPNs, encryption, overseas emails, no more explicit reviews, no code words representing sex work, pre-screening with Providers you may want to see in the future just in case their sites and contact info change by the time this bill hits law status, and so on and so forth. Truly it’s things we should have already been doing. 90 days to 1/1/19 before its active but some sites, like CityVibe, will shut down before that.

There may be some loopholes, but this one is going to be tough.  Ad sites, etc are already running scared, and a lot of promotional opportunities will be lost.  It's going to be a good idea to be saving the info of your favorite ladies, to reach in other ways.

Fuck guys SESTA passed and honestly I don't know what to do if any of the places I put  up ads close down. Look at city vibe.com already down.

It will be the other way around. Gents should get prepared for more out of the blue texts from ladies you met months ago. I’ve already seen a marked increase in this very thing. Even women I’ve never met before. I’m sure it will become more prolific in days ahead. After all, dudes don’t make their living doing this. Unfortunately there are many women who do.

Um I think it’s a matter of the sky is falling...not sure if it’s gonna result much, that pesky constitution might prove problematic. But wtf do I know? Just a lowly whore. Gawd I can’t wait to be a lawyer!!!

This^^^^^

However, law enforcement can, and will, still target websites like this.

The battle between "sex-for-sale" and the "we-think-were-doing-the-right-thing" will never end.

I agree, Melissa, it definitely looks like there may be 1st Amendment issues. The problem with that is that someone has to file suit and due to the already illegal nature of this profession, that is unlikely. I'm crossing my fingers, though. I'd gladly contribute to a GoFundMe or something to help with legal fees and if it gets enough exposure, this looks like something the ACLU would be interested in.

I saw CityVibe is already down. Is TOB moving offshore any time soon? ;)

I'm not so sure it matters if they are off shore if they are targeting an American audience. The review board was hosted overseas. Wish we could get some perspective from the owner of this board and p4 about what their plan  is or If theres a plan in place even?

Time to get your passports ladies. Let's take this show outta the country. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Not sure if anyone here uses Craigslist personals, but it's shut down now. If you go there you get a message about FOSTA.. FYI

I have a friend who is a provider and a client texted her something about this... it seemed weird to me and was wondering if anyone knows what this actually is or if it’s total BS? J

Dumb move. They should make the hobby legal, collect taxes on it and pay off the national debt.

My thoughts... This is a good time to make sure all of the backup contact info for your favorite ladies/gents is up to date... We might be in for a long, cold hobby winter...

When cityvibe went down I knew that we were in for it.  I guess that we just need to brace ourselves.

We will see what the future has the hold.

I personally am thankful that Preferred411 is based outside of the US.  :D

Rather than filing a suit, I think a site will be seized and someone arrested. Their defense will be the 1st amendment freedom of speech.

It will take several years to reach the supreme court and some deep pockets to pay for it. Unless the ACLU steps in.

Hell, I'd chip in a couple of bucks to help the defense.

Will the gallery view be the only thing to change here on TOB then? Or should we expect more?

Not sure I was waiting for a mod to chime in.

Who knows what's going to happen. This site may be no more here real soon.

I can see a scenario where the discussion board (& possibly the reviews) remain, but absolutely NO advertising. Contact information would probably also have to be removed from reviews.

[sarcasm]

Back to the streets for you ladies😡

A lot of changes will be happening over time. Best thing you can do is review the changes and adjust. If you have anything with certain terms like escort, gfe or similar you will need to look into changing your lingo. Follow the same rules as always, don’t talk donations and services same sentence, and ladies if you don’t already please screen.

P411 as far as I read on Twitter will still be active (please feel free to correct me if I am wrong) but they don’t have a review system just a reference system.

This is more then likely how things will shift if certain boards do stick around. And if so, having a two way reference system would be nice in my opinion.

Ter moving their ads isn’t surprising since all of their reviews are heavily explicit.

There is a post about this already in the forums dear (: Quite a bit of us are following it currently. TER has moved their ads to Canada Only, CityVibe is Down, P411 will be sticking around or at least that's what they stated on Twitter.
