Strange Thing at the AMP

19 posts in this topic

So a friend here on the board who I know and admire pointed me to an Asian Massage Parlour (AMP) last Summer (2017). I was meeting a buddy at the Metallica Concert in Denver, and figured I'd leave early and have some fun. Don't ask which AMP, by the way, because that's the LE "low hanging fruit" and "hard won intel" that should not be lightly shared.

Anyway, it's not in a great part of town, big concrete bunker with a buzzer. Door opens and Mamasan gives me the once-over. All is as expected. Mamasans who are around for a while have that sixth sense about people. I passed the test and was ushered into a room. A lovely middle-aged woman came in wearing next to nothing. Her breasts literally fell out of her dress while she was chatting with me. Fantastic. All good. I let the hands wander during the massage and we were on the same page. All went well.

Now here's the thing...once I was all dressed and heading out, Mamasan asked, "So you want to go out the back?"  I responded with a question, "Should I go out the back?" Without hesitation, she said, "Yes." So I went out the back and circled around toward the front where my car was parked. And then I saw a sedan sitting there with a man just sitting in his car talking on his phone. I thought, "Huh, could that be an unmarked car with a cop?"  I don't know if he saw me, but I did a casual u-turn and went down the back alley to the next block over. I walked all the way around, down a whole block, and came up the sidewalk on the other end of the parking lot where I got in my car. I don't think he ever saw me.

I had the extra time, so the extra walk was no problem. You guys think I was being paranoid?  Does LE care about the AMPs in sketchy parts of Denver? Seems to me that a place like I went, which was so blatantly "illegitimate" is a sign that all bets are off and LE scrutiny is LOW.  But why would Mamasan encourage me to go out the back?

they can't bust you if you only went in for a massage, unless they walked in on you or just the door down and caught you then your fine.

paranoid yes

I think you made the right call, though if they cared they already had your plate.  I generally park away from the place and walk in just to be safe.

Smart move re: circling back. But as pointed out, they might already have your info. Then again, if have not been back...

Number of threads over the years on the board re: cops pulling people over after leaving AMP/highly-trafficed-static-incall asking what you were doing there. Recall a thread re: news story where guy admitted to getting some, so, busted him then went into incall and busted the provider.

I remember a story from years ago where DA somehow talked a john to roll on the AMP: DA had lots of high $$ credit card transactions from the guy at the AMP. I guess with this angle,  1) pay cash, B: don't be a fixture at one place where they have your plate, financials, etc.

ADD: ALL AMPS are under scrutiny, imo. Makes for an easy bust for LE, can wrap it into the trafficking reason. Like other static incalls, bigger issue vs. "sketchy" neighborhood is what the neighbors are complaining about. If a neighbor of the AMP is upset and calls LE, they will come out watch. Plenty of stories on the board re: someone rats on the business with lots of middle-aged men only going in/out at 30-60min intervals.

It does not really make sense from the standpoint of it maybe being a cop. However, it DOES make sense as it maybe being one of those groups that film people coming out then publishes it

Think you answered your own question.  They're easy targets.  Additionally, there's pretty good data out there to suggest that the women in the AMP's, unlike the majority of the women here on TOB,  have a high likelihood of being caught up in trafficking, so they naturally draw a disproportionate attention.

The idea of "trafficking" sickens me and probably sickens most of us.  The lady from the first AMP I ever went to owned the parlour, was in her early 50s, and employed a friend of hers who was in her mid 40s. They were not trafficked, spoke good english, etc. And yet, there they were on the cover of The Coloradoan after a ridiculous, absurd, and pointless "sting."  The idea that there are people who photograph men coming out of AMPs -- wow, I had not thought of that. There is an odd appeal to the AMP that I can't describe. It's risky, it's a crap shoot, and it can be such a letdown or quite the rush.

I am amazed that some obviously illegitimate AMPs manage to stay in business, but the one thing in common: They are way way out, isolated, and in an industrial area that yields zero complaints. The place I described above was in the middle of a busy strip mall with too many shopkeepers keeping tabs on the skulking men who darted in and out of the place for nothing more than HJs. The cops cared about HJs from 50-year-old women. Boggles the mind.

If one insists on frequenting AMP's, one has to think a bit like an M.I. agent and think way ahead of the visit, as well as have a good exit strategy. In the end, it's just not worth it, unless one gets off as much on the prospects of LE attention as they do the AMP experience. Through the years, all the attention has degraded the overall quality of girls and nearly eradicated that niche of the bizz, anyway. Too bad, really. If you eliminate the trafficking aspect and decriminalize the industry as a whole, it could be a completely safe and wholly therapeutic outlet for male (and female) 'tension'.

First LE focused on street trade. Many considered it an eye sore & hazard in their neighborhood. SW visibility made them an easy target.  Female decoy stings helped dry up the market place.

About the same time they pressured most newspapers into no longer carrying escort advertisements. Same for Yellow Pages listings.

Next the took on the AMPs.  20 years ago AMPs flourished, providing decent service at a fair price. But their fixed locations made them low hanging fruit.

Now LE is focusing on the Internet and social media.

Where will we go next?

When you are leaving if you are in anyway questioned, respond: I had a very nice massage.

Nothing else and all will be good no matter what. No worries!

Hmm...back to the wife ???

All kidding aside, you are quite correct. when I was a part time  DJ at Saturdays in the 80s, we saw street trade on East Colfax busted all the time. At the Oyster, we learned that the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post sent out letters to the adult industry that they would not carry their ads anymore. ( Not just escorts, adult movie theaters and strip clubs too....a very few years later..Rocky Mountain News went out of business ).  The publisher of the Oyster was taken to court and after a lengthy trial was declared not guilty of being a front for escorts ,as the contract advertisers signed stated that she and the paper had nothing to do with their business. So ads continued. . (Oyster ceased to exist when the last owner died ). Did notice that the Yellow Pages ceased escort ads a few years later. Westword seems to be the only print publication left that takes adult industry ads,but their prices are usually triple those for "legit" advertisers.

As stated, massage parlors are visible enough to bust and its the job description of vice to make arrests.

The internet is not  safe ,vice can look at it just as we can.

Why so many of you think that Exxxotica will have a paid orgy is beyond madness.

There is a bit of a thrill in the risk, I can't deny, but I go to a shady AMP probably once every two years. And yet, I agree that it's not worth the risk at this point. There are places that are "legit" but go really really close to the line, but are militant about not going over that line. They allow self service if you're into that. Those are nice for a highly sensual massage that does not touch the goods unless you count "unintentional" brushes here and there.  There are lovely Asian ladies who give a great massage.  I will stick to the independents for the occasional HE FBSM. Anyway, thanks for all the input.  My "hobbying" has gone way down (to nothing) thanks to a remarkable sex renaissance from my wife over the last six months or so. I am baffled. I know it won't last, but it's welcome nonetheless.

Ah, Cecilia. We all know it won't last, but yeah, it's nice. When it inevitably ends, I suspect I'll be back to your sweet embrace.

In my experience, mamasan lets you out the back when there's a new customer waiting at the front door. They've usually got discretion pretty well nailed down.

Where will we go next?

Next, it will be a Minority Report type approach where they use precogs to determine which men are thinking about having sex, planning on having sex, etc.  Then those men will be collected, rounded up, harvested for sperm, and most men will be eliminated from humanity.  All wars will cease, and women will literally rule the planet.

That's why I NEVER think about sex, or heaven forbid, have it.    :D

probably just some average guy eating his lunch in his sedan, then walked in and got a freebie and a nod from mamasan - and to this minute still can't figure out how he got it...
