I think good quality photos that are recent is important.  Don't have to be professionally taken but clear, well-lit photos that are in focus go a long way for me and if you have the talent get a little artistic with your photos.  You are marketing yourself and a selfie in the bathroom doesn't do it.  I think the providers who understand this and invest in marketing themselves properly really says something.  Also, a well written ad without grammar errors and where it sounds like you are educated.

I think You get Two extra credit points from me for this post.... Well said!  We really do need to take pride in our work, and part of that is the advertisement.  It is not all the fun part!!

That poll is interesting.  As a newer hobbyist I have found it refreshing and nice when it's super clear how a provider would prefer to be initially contacted.   When in doubt I have used PM's but perhaps email would have been better?

I think I've used PM's, emails and website contact forms so far.  No direct texts yet for first contact.

I usually google their numbers and find as much as reviews as possible. Then I also look at profiles of reviewers to make sure they’re not fake. For those with no reviews, I do imagesearch on their pics. If pics look too good to be true, I back off. If pics are very low quality, I assume they just copied and pasted those pics from random social media. I noticed a lot of escorts here dont post their face pics, I think that’s a good indication of Provider being real.

Photos are of course important but I think you misunderstood the question. What sort of research do you do when picking a provider and what criteria (aside from physical) must they meet before you book?

Research:

  1. Google her phone number.  I’m looking for an extended web presence.  If ads are scattered around the country, does the temporal pattern make sense.
  2. Image search.  I’ll start with, “Are the images associated with the phone number consistent?”  Then I look for photos not associated with the sex industry.
  3. Check reviews. I’m mostly looking for legitimacy, but where possible I also check for services and personality.
  4. A known (TOB, ECCIE, P411, TNA) web presence.

Criteria:

  • Rates w/in my budget. Exceptional qualities may cause me to stretch (but not break) my budget.
  • Availability matching my schedule.  This includes location, incall/outcall, and transportation considerations.
  • An educated web presence, indicated by proper spelling, grammar, and logic in discussion posts, ads, and websites.
  • An engaging personality with humor. This will show up in her web presence and in her communications when I contact her for an appointment.
  • A body which interests me. I’m not into Roseanne Barr, nor am I interested in Twiggy.  Age is part of the physical. I want a woman, someone in the 30-70 range. Not some slip of a girl without any curves or life experience.
  • Services?  I seldom book FBSM providers. Most fetish services (Greek, etc.) are merely a bonus, not a primary selection criteria.
  • Ease of contact and prompt response.
  • If fake photos, are they TGTBT? That’s an automatic, “No!”   If photos are representational, displaying an average looking woman, I might take a chance. (When I started all ad photos, if any, were stock images.)

Repeat visit criteria:

  • Enthusiasm
  • Cleanliness
  • Shared interests, engaging conversation

I like a professional web site because it suggest a certain amount of credibility.  I also count on a website to give accurate information about services and updated rates. I don't rely on the reviews on a personal site because I assume they might be cherry-picked. I also don't rely heavily on what a lady says about herself. Sometimes that comes off as a sales brochure.  I like to see that she has a p411 and TER account, although I don't, just gives credibility. The thing I rely on the most is reviews on here, but the ones from established reviewers. I also like recent, professional photos, but don't mind a few cell phone selfies as well.

I'm going to second this since it's almost identical to how I operate with my research and criteria.

That’s probably because so many websites are out of date, or conflict with current advertising (when ads could include rates).  Even when a rate is stated on a website I’ll confirm by asking something like, “So your rate for the hour is $X?”  I never trusted rates listed in reviews, except as a general range.

I would agree with bit banger word for word. I could not have said it better. I travel a good distance and have been around for awhile so I want to make every encounter count.

No, I was just stating something that I use to determine whether or not that provider would be one I would want to see.  One who takes the time to properly market themselves by taking better quality photos versus one who just snaps quick pics of themselves in a mirror or takes obviously selective shots from only certain perspectives.  This tells me they are not comfortable with their entire self and are just trying to lure clients based on one aspect.  An example might be several up-close photos of her chest while not showing the rest of her body.  Also, a well written ad tells me they are educated or that they took the time to proofread their ad prior to submitting it to make sure they are not coming off like a high school dropout.  As beautiful and skilled as a woman may be, if she opens her mouth and sounds like she just got here from the hills of West Virginia, it's a buzzkill for me.    I think websites can be good and are an obvious way to check someone out but I have also seen websites that are so overdone that I just don't have the time or desire to read the pages and pages of information.  These are my "tools" or personal ways of attempting to gauge a provider.  First impressions are big in this, make a good one.  Respond to inquiries in a timely manner, be professional (this is your career) and be personable.
