Mission trips to Backpage.com - Saving Some Souls

21 posts in this topic

Far and away the best, most accurate and realistic post on the topic in a long time.  Thank you!  Works the other way as well - I have met more than one fabulous lady off BP and helped coax a couple over to check this place out and "sign up".  Regardless of where a john looks or where a lady advertises, safety, respect and fun should be everyone's common goals (yeah I know, not shared with lots of bad actors, but gems are where you find them)

Any time I find a quality provider, I have suggested TOB.  While there is nothing inherently wrong with BP as a supplemental advertising medium, I cross reference to this and other trusted review sites (in addition sometimes to other gents with whom I communicate regularly).

One must be aware of the kinds of red flags to take note of in other forums and research every potential provider in order to find the best experience.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I love this post too as it is very informative. My only minor friendly amendment would be too call it educating the masses rather than saving souls, but your points are well taken. Having only been here a year, I am thankful for the educational posts I have read that have helped immensely. Even some of the idiot posts and trolling posts can be helpful if you put them in the proper perspective. If only more of the folks would participate. It's been pretty quiet lately.

Thanks for your perspective!

Great post!  I’m not newbie friendly so bp does not work for me.  I have much respect for all the ladies that help the new gentlemen learn the ropes.

Totally understood, that's why it was a friendly amendment!

Main point, I wish more YLs would share their perspectives like this. Helps to educate those of us trying to navigate these waters safely and respectfully.

Clearly you already know what One must do to insure one does not find oneself a victim of Backpage. Kudos to you

My post is SPECIFICALLY ABOUT  gentleman who do not  know there ARE  steps they can take (let alone what they are) to verify and research providers"  and they certainly cannot recite them like a school boy looking for a shiny red apple from a his hottie of a  teacher either

IM SUPER  stoked you know how to cross reference reviews across different sites and compare notes in the forums ..

But again these guys don't even  know there are OTHER sites. That was kinda the whole point.

I, too, started with backpage over 6 years ago.  I was afraid to pull the trigger, until I found references to TOB and TER.  Turns out one of the providers I was looking at had a few positive reviews both places, so I pulled the trigger.  I had a good experience and was intrigued, so I started strictly searching TOB and TER reviews.  Found one provider who had good reviews and even had references on other providers websites.  She was my 2nd encounter, knocked my socks off, and never gave them back.  She became my ATF.

While I only use backpage locally now.....and then extremely rarely.....I believe it serves another purpose: To quote the Japanese proverb:  "The nail that sticks up gets hammered down."  Let us NOT hope TOB becomes bigger and better known than BP in Denver.  Because:

So. I post on Backpage to boost in biz and I've been posting there ALOT more since p411 changed their profile visibility guidelines (but that's another topic)

I screen though and Backpage clients  HATE that apparently  so my appointment requests dwindle rapidly -  more often than not I'm meeting Great clients, Some real gentleman who are very new to the hobby or very illinformed or BOTH.

Talking to these guys I realize they have no idea TOB exists and NO REASON TO THINK THEIR IN THE WRONG PLACE ANYWAY.. : From a distance and to a newbie one look at the women for men dating section in Denver and there's no doubt about it - their in the right place! These guys assume the bait and switch bitches, the rip offs and upsellers are just an unavoidable part of an unregulated black market business. They don't see a need to look for a new online resource, and they may click on sites like Escortbabylon but they return even more convinced Backpage is IT.

Many don't even know about  review sites! They know as much as I know when I just started last April. On March 29th I thought escorting was just done in VIP suites in Las Vegas hotels or Los Angeles street corners..Somehow being even that ignorant  I knew was Backpage was where to find Escort work. The news coverage has subliminally made the two synonymous, Im sure I'm not in the minority as far as that goes...and Google searches confirm their long marriage to one another. If I only needed to find an escort now and then I'd think Backpage was the alpha and Omega as well...but I dug deeper quickly believing there "had to be a better pool of clients somewhere ...please oh please"  I'm always so happy to tell these guys I've met on BP that lots and lots of quality and affordable Denver escorts don't even post there! Ever. And that they haven't even really seen what Denver has to offer even if they've been going to Backpage for months now.

Great clients are looking into the hobby or taking the plunge for the first time every single day ladies. And their doing it on Backpage

One of my  favorite all-time clients  I met recently on Backpage and I'm so glad I got him when he was a newbie and now he's right here, safe  Among Us.

I only realized reading these boards that among the community here there was such a stigma about posting to Backpage.. so this experience is through completely new eyes on the situation and

If we try to remove the stigma a little and try to look at it as a mission trip to  BP. to bring  a potentially great client over for us before BP turns him into a bitter prick TO us we could steal all of the business that's up in the air right now for one thing from Backpage but we can also have a lot of great new clients I think. In my experience they are definitely there lost for sure but there

Well said. I too mention TOB to every provider who isn't aware, though I will share having met a few who choose not to join, citing excessive oversight, pretentiousness and/or too much drama as reasons. This is not to be critical of the venue, but honest.

I will say I did read a post last night wherin a provider got repeatedly attacked in post after post by forum regulars and  moderators as well!  Shocking as This website  exists solely because of the services provided buy all of the ladies here. I couldn't help but notice that a  remark made to a mod in defense of the provider was not tolerated nearly as well. Um.. If it weren't for providers no matter how you may feel about them individually there wouldn't be a board to moderate. It's not the other way around. Although reading the forums here some days I think many are oblivious to that fact or hell bent on changing it.

I stand by my initial post 100% even so. Gentleman clients can flourish and explore here happily their whole hobby.  And quite frankly that's all that we providers are here or anywhere for anyway. Drama , excessive oversite, judgemental attitudes and mob mentality aside. We're just here to do our jobs..serve our Clients. And Grow our Careers.

And EVERYONE else is here because we do that as well as we do

A little history lesson - TOB was created by T.O. (and some like minded individuals) as a resource for clients!

It was a schism from a now defunct board(SoWet) partly because that boards owner & sole moderator was obsessive about defending providers against any slight. (Side note: The owner of that board has been cooling his heels in the pen.). Ladies were welcome, but had to stand on their own. Many have & continue to do so.  You may have also missed that the fellas frequently lash into each other.  It's not always guys vs. gals. Personally, I try to focus my arguments on what I consider illogical positions, not individuals. There are plenty of light hearted moments and individual support throughout the board. We tend to circle the wagons when needed.

Small nit. RT was obsessive about defending providers that advertised with him. Once a provider got on his wrong side or never was an advertiser, they were open to negative reviews/info.

Eg. was a provider that started out well, very popular, but ran into issues down the road. Reviews/posts start to pop up stating such, only to disappear. After a while, RT would start leaving up the negative posts and comment himself how he had been helping her with money/bail/etc, but yes, she's a mess, stay away.

Believe there were numerous occassions where he would make up stories against providers who would not play along (ie. Would not give him freebies [part of his "fee structure", per the story around his takedown by the Feds and his dealings with AMPs]).

Sorry for all the font changes in my original 'history lesson'.  They are an artifact of editing on my phone; emphasis was not intended. My history lesson was for someone with <50 posts.

TOB never has been, and I hope never becomes, a men's only forum. Ladies' POV is important. But it was founded with a client focus, as T.O. expressed many times before his departure from the scene. Has it evolved over time? Of course!  But positions still need to be defended with facts & logic instead of emotional appeals, regardless of the poster's sex.

Great post Ryan! I used to do BP before I knew any other sites existed. I found it by mistake one day trying to do research on a lady to see. Her number popped up on TOB with a couple reviews, now I use it almost exclusively....

I used BP for a while but had so many bad experiences that i quit the hobby for a while. Even got robbed at knife point once by someone's pimp. Then I discovered this site along with some other review sites. There is definitely less hesitation to see a provider from this site than from BP. Its nice knowing a provider's limits before visiting them. I don't wanna make anyone cross a line but I also know what I want in a provider.
