Advice that is. With lots of new ladies around and more season vets wanting to try new things I thought it might be useful to share some handy hooker tips! Times and trends change but I think there are definitely a few universal tips to help make business better and more professional.

Two things before I get going though, one any which way you choose to run your business is valid. Some do this causally to make extra money and some do this full time the effort put into it will vary. Two, business isn't super-duper great right now. There is no trick to magically make it better but following some of these tips can help grow your business over time and make more money and meet the types of clients you want.

  • Pick a brand. We're products like Coke or BMW they have recognizable brands and call to mind specific images and feelings. A provider's brand is their persona. Pick a persona that you're comfortable with and be consistent with it! If your brand is PSE Spitfire then Passionate GFE is a contradiction to your brand.
  • Have a decent website. This is where your clients are going to go to learn about you, it's a space where you can be you and advertise your brand free from constraints of ad site rules. Having and maintaining a good website is professional. It shows your potential clients that you're serious and is a great way to make potential clients serious clients. You can tease them with new pictures or hook them with a witty blog post.
  • Have standards and stick to them. You do this and the quality of your clientele increases dramatically.
  • Join every site you feel comfortable with. Ad sites and discussion boards are almost always regional. More exposure means more business. It's also really useful to see how business is done in other areas.
  • Join the few provider only sites there. Keep safe, informed and have a place where you can chat with other providers and ask questions without the discomfort of clients reading it.
  • Never stop learning. Times change! This business has really evolved in my 8 years. Always room for growth and change.
  • Don't sweat the small stuff, or the inconsequential. Keep the focus on yourself and keeping your business going.
  • Don't get sucked into one way of doing things. There is no one right way.
  • Remember this is work. Some days are going to be harder than others. Save money, pay taxes if you can. Admin work is just as important as getting dressed up for a date.
  • Invest in your business. Investing in your business is investing in yourself. There is money to be made but it can't be made without you investing in yourself.

There is so much I wish had done differently in the beginning but knowledge was hard to come by. I want to offer the basic building blocks. What advice do any of you other providers want to add?

Great advice for your fellow providers.  One thing I would add from a consumer perspective and small business owner would be to have quality photos.  If you were selling your Mercedes, you would take the time to really capture it in good, clear photos with good lighting and from multiple angles.  You are that high-end vehicle, you should have photos that show off the product well to attract better quality consumers.

If you put your money in the bank be sure to keep records on file when you shift funds around. The goverment will audit you the moment you  start shifting funds around.

Fallow the 5 reiki principals (I have shared several times on TOB).

Have hobbies and activities outside of the hobby.

Look up from your cell phone once in a while.

Exercise to draw oxygen into your body and brain

Eat healthy

Believe in something greater outside of yourself.

Smile and laugh more.

Kali,

Once again you prove yourself a total gem. I love the way you offer suggestions for people to be better people. I Love that about you!

Mods, come on? Do we really need to be arguing about taxes on here???

Is there someone who can close this before everyone on here forgets why they are on here in the first place and gets even more STREESD OUT?????

Peace and thanks in advance!

Excellent topic. If I might add this:

Keep your boundaries firm. Work on networking with sister providers. We are all full of knowledge where this business is concerned. And no one can understand the issues that can happen but another provider.  🍀

I would think it would be very helpful to have a budget. You work hard for your $, make your $ work hard for you. (no pun intended) I know it is more difficult with an unpredictable monthly income but commissioned salesmen  do it. I am sure there are books on the subject. I am not a disciple  but I am sure I have heard Dave Ramsey address the subject.

Why close it? Let the naysayers be naysayers. No one is really arguing some people just can't resist being nasty.

We are all here for different reasons but one of the reasons many come here is to be informed. There aren't many places where we providers can really talk shop. The whole point of my post was to be helpful and it helped so why close it?

NO offense but you seem to be more bothered by this than the participants. Providers need knowledge and we should not ask for threads that are informative to be shut down. I'm not stressed are you?

Show me a financially savvy hooker, and I'll show you four-leaf clover with a winning lottery ticket stuck to it in a field full of unicorns. ;)

The ones who are got out a long time ago. What I see here and on other boards are girls who've been around since the late 90s, still claiming they're in their "30s"<_<

And as for working girls paying taxes....yeah, sure, my doorbell just rang, it's Gianna Michaels, Sasha Gray, and Monica Sweetheart offering me three-way atm.:D^_^B):unsure:

I've known ladies that were strippers, models, porn stars and /or escorts that were very financially savvy and live quite well today.  But do agree that there have been many that perpetuate the stereotype  As with any industry ,you have those that do well  and you have those that fail.

As for the ladies claiming to be 30..that obviously  have been around since the 90s, it does crack me up when a review says that they are new to the business. Guess changing ones name does have its advantages Ladies, embrace yourselves. Many of you are as marketable ,desirable and sexy as you were then No need to pretend otherwise.

Not about what you earn true. More about how you invest. With the banks not giving much with earned intrest( no we now pay the banks for holding our money). Just how do you invest your money 2Big? Do you know of any real ligetamate short term investment ideas we could do with our money we earn?   Since you brought up how Savvy you are with money...ya prove it!?

You know instead of coming on here to be hurtful...why don't you put your money where you spew and sputter your venomous bullshit and actually put forth some helpful advise on investment ideas that will bennifit us all would be great!

So have at it old wise one!😂😂

Don't forget, many of your clients have aged those same years. If you're <30, true or not, I'm less likely to make the call.

Trot down to the nearest Fidelity office  and open an account. It could be a straight investement account or an IRA(which has restrictions & tax advantages).  Their current minimum for opening an account is $2500. Schwab's minimum is only $1,000.

Check out Vanguard EFTs (https://investor.vanguard.com/etf/fees). Their minimum is in the hundreds, depending on the current share price.

In all of these you should be able to purchase indexed funds, some of which match the Dow Jones portfolio. Just keep adding a little bit each month and watch you funds grow. Let it ride!  These are long term investments, that will fluctuate with the market. You also can watch the beauty of compound growth.

I am NOT a financial advisor. Just know what worked for me.

You can't be seriously looking for financial advice on a john/hooker board. Google "financial adviser denver", and I'm sure all the necessary information is going to pop up.;)

I have some long term investments with NYL. Mind you "long term" Bit. I am looking for some short term ideas that might work. It has been a long time since i tried day trading and no I am just not comfortable going back into that again. Yuck! I lost some money...😒 I have a IRA roth account, annuities, a few small savings accounts. Won t say what I am worth...Not enough! 😂😂

Also, do you know anything about the news with new tax laws involving not being able to claim student loans on your income taxes?? I paid off over 42K mind you! Very upsetting and hopefully I am jumping to conclusions too fast?!...Now I am hearing about a bill being passed saying I will not be able to use this major payment for my credit for the freaking IRS...sucks I know that you can never claim income taxes on a bankruptcy. Just very upsetting to me. I worked so hard on paying down those freaking student loans! Our goverment can go to...I have never been given a hand out. And I have always worked my earnest in life to save/pay bills/be a good citizen.

It sucks when being a good person you end up penalised in life. Very sad!

I like dividend paying stocks. There is a stock thread that I have done well following. A lot of smart posters. Of course there is some risk. I will PM you a link.

Short term? Day trade? Not for me!!!

Just as well take your $s to Blackhawk or arbitrage Bitcoin.

But I'm glad you have the long term covered.

I haven't been following the new tax package closely enough. I'm not sure if it applies to our 2017 returns, in which case grab what you can of that deduction now. One of the great gifts my father, the US Army, and the State of IL gave me was a debt free education (though I worked part-time to put food on the table).

In general I'm in favor of simplifying the tax code. Eliminate as many itemized deductions (loopholes) as possible, then increase the personal deduction to be tax neutral for most filers, and lock it to inflation.

But I digress ...

Thank you for your information. I am going to go through it tonight after my call and before sleep.

I often read and listen to "Money Talks" on the radio and on line. I just looking for ways to secure my future. You know, instead of living for the day. 😊😊

I feel for everyone who is struggling especially during these times. Cost of living in Denver is outrageously high and continuing to grow. Please financial people if you can send good advise and encouragement? That would be awesome! Thanks again Foronceinmylife.

Omg Laci! I would rent ya!

MyTRUE  feelings are that we are living in the same USA. Even Denver area. Ya?  Some of the people on here. (TOB) are dealing with many of the same issues in life...So why not 2Big?! So once in a while I will ask such questions here. I remember a time when I could turn to my dad. Very sad topic for me not being able to speak a normal conversation with him. He was 1 of the founders of a major investment firm back in the 60's when he graduated from college(not important). Plus, I enjoy researching the hell out of what might be do able for my own self. My degree is not in finance unfortunately...my college degree is in Liberal Arts. I also am educated in other areas but not finance dammit! Lol life!

Can't claim student loans in bankruptcy either. I don't like the IRS. They send me fake love letter too all the time. State claims I owe over 3k...nope! I don't! I DO file and pay!

Statue of limitation on IRS is 10 years. The only way I would ever owe more than 3k on state is if they combined a few years together. In 2014 I paid 1400.00 that was all I owed. Now I am getting fake love letters. I have a tax accountant. She has everything carefully documented.

Ladies take it from me. Don't bother opening the can of worms if you can obstain from it? Do!

Obviously I can not speak for 2big,but over the years ,became aware of several escorts that bought, fixed up and flipped houses.Real estate is a good investment,be it short or long term. A porn star friend bought ...true story....stock in Disney and its done well for her. So you can ,with a lot of homework and a good financial adviser, play the stock market.Just last week, helped  a local with her clips4sale ,which is bringing in plenty of legit cash that goes 100% into investments ,while she lives only on part of her escort earnings. No doubt others will chime in with their suggestions too. Thank you JR,

I am a home owner. I have also put in some major upgrades on my place. A client put in a hanging cabinet over my kitchen island that is to die for. Funny thing to note, Home Depot refused to do the work. When my client said no problem and he came through for me! It is amazingly beautiful!!! Talk about true craftsmanship and total upgrade to my place!

Just goes to show you we do have a smart group of providers/John's who are willing to give helpful advise, handy craftsman work, listen and console you through the rough times. Hell you name it!

As long as you don't fear stepping in when extra additional touches are needed? Yes! Even just a little bit goes a long way. Sometimes this requires learning more about each party. So weighing that all out a head of time is often a consideration to factor in.if it is too much of a boundary issue? No don't go there!

I plan on finishing my basement by this Spring. The contractor is a personal friend of mine (not from our world). Not sure what my long range goals consist of right now? Maybe I will sell this monster home (large to me) along with my furnishings?Pocket the money...Gawds have you not seen some of those 5th wheels? Possibly a smaller home South where the cost of living is reasonable? You just never know what the future brings.

Damn have to get ready for my R.W. job. One thing tho never discredit anyone or situation. There are some priceless rewards with getting to know others and opening up to those worthy of sharing information with on both sides of the fence. At least I know I have been very lucky!

JR that is really cool to hear about your porn friend. I am not into flipping houses. However, when the time comes and if possibly the warmer weather and cost of living looks better else where? You just never know on me I might take off. Not sure? 😀

Speaking of financial advice, don't forget to know and be aware of if your parents are covered with life insurance(term) or something else that will bury them and pay any debts they have, or will leave behind. I had a family member pass and he "thought" he had everything covered, but his wife is now screwed and struggling because due to certain circumstances, it isn't valid for her due to the way he set it up. I have personally made a note of this, and anyone I am an executor for I have discussed with and made plans for just in case. Nothing sucks more than being blindsided by someone else's problems that you didn't expect to take care of plus funerals are not cheap. I see this time and time again.

The reason I am broke currently is I do plan for the future. Every one of my kids have coverage and trusts to meet basic needs if needed, I have an IRA through a reliable company, plus stocks and I even have certificates plus other savings. I put a good portion into these as I know I am not getting any younger and am preparing for the worst case scenario. All I have left is getting my credit rating up which it slowly is, and now figuring out the best way to go back to school and pay for it so I am not paying interest after. Otherwise, my bills are current, I have no loans, and I am about $600 in debt. I think I am doing pretty damn good...it sure wasn't that way in my 20's. LOL!

Samantha Sheppard

My dad died in 2013 and he had everything covered perfectly. Both my mom and I have ,like he did, pre paid for our final resting places ,coffins etc etc.

My will is very specific and has been gone over by top lawyers, so my family has nothing to worry about. You give sound advice on what you are doing in that regard. That said, I will not name WHICH lady is getting my cases of unused adult toy  promotional samples, but I do hope she thinks of me as she puts them to good use.

Very interesting...

Insurance is not easy. Due to too much fraud. Making sure everything is factored in and not forgotten is important. My dad has nothing. The premiums got too high about 5 years ago.So his policy for life was dropped. My mom and dad are both 79 years old. My mom had to hire an attorney...long sad story and yes I have and continue to learn from my parents mistakes with not planning properly for their future. Still feel that while what I have is great. It is still not enough. I did not start saving until I was 40. Also,  I personally need to still draw up a will. Ten years worth of investment. Losing big in 2011. A few other stupid mistakes with my plans and investments I made. Now feeling like I am finally making a little headway. Samantha it is not easy! Yet, just like we have talked about several times before. Too many ladies never plan. Living for the day and not planning for your future is often the case with most.Damn JR has his plan with his toy collection!!

Leaves me to wonder? Who can I leave my massive glassware collection too? Hahaha!! Now that just might end up to be a nightmare??😱😱

I've had a will since i got my drivers license. Of course it has been updated many times over the years. Its comforting to know where everything goes when the dirt nap begins . Too bad the Oyster publisher didn't have a will or a business plan for it to continue ,but, sadly so many just do not think to do the paperwork .

Sorry to disappoint you Kali, but you don't get the sex toys.

No problem on the sex toys JR. I am sure they are going to a well deserved home. That is top priority!

There are loopholes with all purchases be them what they are. Always read the small print and if you still don't understand? Find someone who does.  Because this is how my parents got in trouble and my dad was forced to drop his life insurance policy when the premiums more than tripled after countless years of paying into it. It crippled them. Also, like so many people do they barrowed/refinanced/ built a mountain home way too late in life ( while in their 60's). Always great intentions applied but not smartly. My parents are very conservative and traditional. Married right out of college in 1960 and had me 5 years later.😊My mom never paid any of the bills and when my dad started to go downhill she let him continue to make mistakes without knowing too much about what to do. At age 79 she now is doing it all. Plus, needing to take everything out of my dads name. I feel for her and I am there for her. Every Sunday I am with her at the nursing home. Focused on trying to get my dad to move a bit physically, he is shot mentally with no short term memory. Most importantly to me I am  be supportive of my mom to show up at that stinky place be with my parents. My mom hopefully will be alright financially? If not she has her kids to help her (there are a few of us kids). I don't want anything from anyone. Maybe a picture or two. Chances are I will need to move my mom in with me on down the road...who is to say? I have an informal will. Guess my main focus is making sure I never burden my own kids and that my mom is taken care of. So for now this is my focus and to live a clean life! Always planning for the future like Samantha is also!

I figure if I can work on putting away at least 60% for now and increase that precent of savings over time it will hopefully sustain my future.

Started with US Treasury savings bonds back when you could get them from the bank. Now you need to buy them on line. From there I had a small account with Fidelity with a friend who was a broker with that particular company. Then he moved onto New York Life. He now is doing something different with banking. I am still with NYL. Met with my new broker last night to go over my financial status. Was interesting...yea in 7 years my term insurance is going to double in price so I question myself on if I need it?  So" yes it is good to always know your status and where you stand financially speaking. Also, cool to look into other avenues.  Possibly an index fund thinking Energy??? Lol I wish I was Savvy enough to do day trading. Just not a risk I am willing to take right now ( did that lost my shirt). Too much else going on and you have to constantly do a ton of research and be quick on your toes with day trading and I can't risk anymore. I am 52 years old and have responcablities.

JR I am so freaking sorry about Dawn too! I used to talk to her and that other guy while placing my ads. State of shock when you told me what happened to the owner of the Oyster. 😥😥
