Beyond the need to make each other feel comfortable, there is real danger in using one's real phone number for our proclivities. As a case in point, my SOP is to Google providers' images and phone numbers. Mainly looking to know if stuff comes up in different cities, under different names and phone numbers, etc. as these are flags for fakes, flakes and LE, after receiving a recommendation from a fellow hobbyist, I was shocked to find more than anyone should know about anyone, especially in this hobby and thought to share.

Redacted for obvious reasons, everything from her real name, full address including apartment number, Voter ID and voting record came up for the world to see. Now I haven't reached out to her but intend to, one reason being she came highly recommended  but another that it's only right to share my findings.

The moral of the story is that the use and acceptance of texting apps shouldn't be the taboo it is. No screening method is foolproof, but there are other ways to vet each other with reasonable assurance that also allow the hobbyist to protect their true identity, as I will venture to say most providers already do. And if you don't, you'd better.

You may believe this is true. I do not. I believe there are violent men, thieves (both male and female), and other people-who-hurt-others, who constantly change their on line identities, so they can do bad things. The whole purpose of screening, and research, is to avoid these people.

I don't need to protect my identity, from honest, kind people. I have nothing to hide, from a provider, I've chosen to see. I research them carefully, and I do not fear them. I feel sorry for those who do.

After finding this type of information about a provider searching her phone number, I sent her an email to let her know what was available with her number. she spent the next two days sending me emails about being a stalker and probably even a pedophile. when I find that type of information now I chuckle to myself and move on.

Okay, maybe because I am a seasoned provider, but if a guy told me, hey I was able to find this info on you just by googling your number, I think I might say thank you! Back in the day, the people in this community watched each other’s back and when something like this happened, people learned from the mistakes and said Thanks.

Too many things for people to get twisted up about these days. RELAX gees!

If a guy has to google my number With the Reviews board Rep that I have, I am naturally  just gonna wonder just Why out of curiosity ? What's the point? What are you looking for? Why is it important? Is there something you found bad? What about my posts, reviews, web site did not convince you enough that google was still needed??

Chrissy, when researching a new (to me) gal the first thing I do is Google her phone number. This is what leads me to her review history, and then to her board presence. Some guys verify her pics first, but if her persona checks out, I don't really need that.

Must be nice. Living otherwise "committed", somewhat public lives, at least some of us must creep.

If a possible client starts asking me if I am legit, I immediately tell him to google my name, number, and email to prove that I am not some newbie and unknown entity in this biz. If a client can't do his homework and see that I am not unknown then starts asking me questions, then he will be directed to do JUST THAT as I am not going to waste time answering 20 questions to his ignorant and lazy self. It takes minutes to peruse and know if I am a fit for you. If a guy then finds something personal about me, and tells me then shame on me for not doing my homework, and keeping my personal/business life separate.

I do understand if a lady gets her feathers ruffled if someone sees all of their personal stuff, but this business can easily turn provider paranoid instead of being smart about how to handle your business. Ladies, google yourself and make sure you have covered your tracks personally. If you don't want people to find certain things, there are various steps to ensure they don't mix. If you don't know how to...ask someone who does.

xoxo,

Samantha Sheppard

The proverbial thick skin is a very much needed attribute in this business. The possibility of someone finding more information about us then is necessary is indeed real so those who are paranoid should not entertain thoughts of being an escort. But if anyone is concerned about what information is easy to find, google your number and see what you find about you.

Have you the Luxverify.com? I'm going to try it but I don't want it to scare the newbies away. I pride myself on immediate appointments and I am also a seasoned provider, 14 years to be exact. I know my way is risky but my flow of new clients is endless.

Is it safe to say that recent reviews here and other boards from long standing clients is another good indication of legitimacy?

In my opinion, that is the only reliable indication of legitimacy (especially if combined with a P411 account).  I like the fact that you realize that who the reviewers are is nearly as important as what they say.  If a reviewer has several reviews, of several ladies, over several years, that is probably a reliable reviewer.  If a lady has two reviews, both very recent, and both by an unknown reviewer who only has one review each, you can be a bit suspicious of those reviews - likely just self-reviewing, but could also be a set-up (I.e. officer Jones and officer Wilson gave officer Mylady good reviews).

For example, if a lady only had two reviews, but one was from Pfunk and the other was from Fishindude, and if both are good, then you are good to go (in fact, if there is actually a review from Fishindude, you will have excruciating detail as well). B)

I know for a fact that ladies have googled the number I called them from.  (once back in the day I texted a lady using a personal phone number and she responded and used my first name, althought I hadn't given it to her.  )   One of the reasons I switched to a hobby phone. I often google their numbers too. A very quick, easy way to start to start the screening process.

Long winded video, showing step by step fake info being inserted.

Lux Verify appears to be a dating reference check for a fee... monthly subscription $14.99 or the annual subscription for $149.99.

I've had exactly the same thing happen a couple of times.  I don't get it.  I thought I was doing them a favor, but no.  Now I keep my mouth shut.
