$40? Slept together but no sex? You've got to be kidding me.

That's why he got off with a slap on the wrist: he's a good guy that made an honest mistake.

The comments section on the article is a good read, and I basically agree with the comments re: the "thin blue line" nonsense. If Average Joe got caught up with a hooker, not going to get a slap on the wrist. I appreciate the work of the good cops out there, but protecting these criminals, who should be held to stricter standards regarding the law, grrrrrrr!

Also looks like the cop was named in a police abuse case from 2005.

Guessing this joker is close to retirement, so, reason DPD is protecting him.

This is the part of that news story that caught my attention:

After the woman paid bail and left the Downtown Detention Center, she agreed to talk to detectives about local online escort services, pimps, prostitutes and drug dealers, the letter said. During the interview, she allegedly told them that she had been paid for sexual acts by a Denver police officer.

Son of a gun, looks like we will be getting a newbie poster coming on soon with a silly question.

I think there was a touch of sarcasm with your last bit but I also know there’s s thought on this board that actually feels that way. So my question is; why do you think new members asking newbie questions are cops when all information is readily available on the site for free? And really the only thing someone needs to do is actively participate to gain trust??

Probably because the mods of those services haven't put the pieces together yet.

Actively participate and CONTRIBUTE over a period of time is required to gain trust. Yes, there's plenty of free material, but recommendations can add confirmation to that information in damaging ways. The Old Guard is likely to be even more cautious for a while now.

Hell! I'd be cautious of Old Guard as well!

Big scheme of things, so what re: talking to PD about online sites. They know these sites exist. Most likely visit on a regular basis. And probably have sign-ons. Nothing information-wise she can provide that will be useful. You visted her and used your real phone, gave a real name, etc., maybe something to be concerned about.

Now, you start getting random messages from this lady or some new lady asking to meet up because she heard you're a great guy, my Spidey Sense would be off the scale.

I don't know how they couldn't, Bit. It's very blatant.

I hope that passwords etc were not turned over, at least for the one booking site. This is why some of us screen so hard. It's for your protection and ours. It would be nice to think that this stuff does not happen. Think about all of the scenarios that are not reported and/or self reported in this case. They are amongst us....

P411 doesn't do drama. One the reason I enjoy there services. As for ECCIE I'm not sure how they work. I hardly post there.

P411 probably are not aware of it. But if someone reports it, then she might lose her account for snitching esp since this guy almost lost his job now he on news stations with public humiliation on top that to public....

Escort rule #1 DENY, DENY, DENY! These men are our bread and butter. Never admit to knowing them! Especially to a wife or employer!!!! I have ZERO respect for any lady who does this!

This story broke in the papers & TOB yesterday morning. The ECCIE thread started almost a year ago, but did not include any outing until more recently.

I do NOT expect P411 staff to monitor every escort board for this type of thing. It's up to us to keep our own house clean. I'm sure that once alerted, they will take appropriate action.

The investigation was in February according to the story on the post. I think the time line fits really well.

Well, if there is any doubt, looks like she changed her ECCIE profile within last 24hrs. Took her pictures off, changed the fields to say "outta here" and changed her display name and signature to "SJ", same as initials in police report.

ADD: looks like she's added her side of the story to her showcase page.

She’s a good lady, as far as my conversations and interactions with her go.  Can’t always believe the press or the police, or anyone for that matter.  Always more to the story, so reserving any judgment and being sympathetic to the community member as well as the officer is what I am doing, and hoping the best outcome for both.  Even if sex was involved, it shouldn’t be a crime and one should not feel threatened or coerced, or perhaps misrepresented in what they say or don’t say to Le.  Assuming she talked, what could she say that they don’t already know?  Assuming the officer is lying and the two had sex, wouldn’t that still be two consenting adults and perhaps it occurred after a legitimate massage or something?

Well, it depends on what the "it" is.  Paying for time and companionship is not against the law.

Evidence of prior "bad acts" is not admissible for the purpose of establishing guilt.
