Selling our information

17 posts in this topic

I find this very interesting.  I think Eros is selling our information.  I went on to TER and found a new website listed for sugarnights, something I have never signed up for.  The exact three picture and my Eros ad that I just posted on Eros that week.  If they are not selling it, they are easily being hacked.  Then TER posted it on my site.

Thank You TOB for never allowing any of this to happen.

Yes, I understand this topic has been covered many times.... Thank you for letting me start a new thread about it.

I find my Photos and ads that I never created on all kinds of different scrap sites.

These sites surf the internet and copy our information and paste it on there site.

I suppose it makes them look like they have a reputable site that will bring revenue.

Sugarnights is just one more added to the list.

I noticed this when I looked up my reviews on TER and the sugarnights site was included on my contact info along with my website.

SugarNights has been around a long time and  is quite the tour down nostalgia lane.  Ran into "ads" for three fabulous ladies who have been gone and retired for years (sob) without even looking hard.  Eros is a pretty sketchy frickin' site itself IMHO.

I don't think it is Eros because the ad I had on there doesn't match the one on TER on sugar nights, but I can be wrong. I asked them to take it down and TER refused.

I think like any ad site it's hit or miss. In some places it's the only place to advertise and in the more popular spots it's expensive like $250 for an ad kind of expensive. It's still among one of the most popular ad sites there is.

I quit even looking at it 5 or 6 years ago.  At that time it had at least as many fakes and scams as BP is alleged to have these days.  There was no point in bothering with them when there was EB, p411, Bears Board, Sowet, Escorts.com and even frickin'g sip-sap was less scams per ad.  Perhaps they have classed up these days and I am being unfair.

I think TER is a problem.... They have the fake site on my profile. They are more than difficult to use!!

I think Eros is a most for a tour.  They do verifications that the people are real.  I am not sure that would stop the scam...

Meh it still doesn't make it useful for you. Like all sites they can be shifty. Those who might need to use it though should know that's it's not the wasteland it's believed to be.

if you think you have any privacy on the net, you're sadly mistaken.

Privacy is one thing, but setting up profiles on other sites with our information and not our consent is totally different to me. I am sure there has to be a law about stealing.

It is a total pain (& waste of time considering how quickly they exploit any of our new ads/posts/ect.) to remove your profile or ad from those junk sites. I think there is some law regarding plagiarism that is loopholed by citing it under "entertainment purposes." But if you do request your info be removed, there is sometimes a note about a copyright law.

Anywho, free advertising all the way! Sometimes I will be checking out different advertising venues and catch myself feeling disapointed when I have to start from scratch, rather than just claim my profile that was taken from one of my current ads.

I think most of those sites are just trying to lure people onto their website so they can make money from ad revenue everytime someone clicks on an ad or pop-up. They know that people will be searching the web for our numbers/names so they know they will get traffic from our info.

I hear that Google Ads can be a nice cushion for pocket money, and some of these sites make it almost impossible to click on anything in the site that doesn't lead to an ad.

There is a law about this hobby, yet here we are.

Trouble is, there are LOTS of laws...State laws..Federal laws, International Laws. Even if ladies could, or would pursue the theft of their photo's and false personna's they they use for an illegal venture, authorities are not going to cross lines. Wrong state....wrong country....wrong I.P  location. Was it copy righted? Did you agree de facto by public posting to make it available to all? In the big picture of time, the Internet is still very young and like the Wild West. Outlaws rip you off, then hide in the cyber forest or mountains, or ride across a state\ country border out of jurisdiction

I have an ad on Eros and they are now watermarking all of the ad photos with the eros.com mark.  Maybe, this will slow down some of the sites from stealing the photos and ads.
