Unfortunately, the industry as a whole is constantly under attack..no.matter which political party is in control.

They all need to back off and let us have our fun!

You are correct! However, the vast majority of the world views "our hobby" as a sin, immoral, and a criminal activity. We have a long road, to get to decriminalization.

This business is so misunderstood. Like many, the 'trade' is all about drug addicts, human trafficking and pimps. Sure that exists but there is also the positive side, and really wonderful people in it. There are great cops and dirty cops, I don't see anyone trying to make police illegal.

The irony is that I'm certain Washington DC has plenty of secret hobbiest who as political officials publicly denounce the hobby.

It is not just the cops the adult industry needs to worry about, FEDS are making this a high priority.

To be honest I am positive there are some people who are very greatfull for this operation that takes place anyone who might have been saved from legit harm.

Unfortunately it includes those of us who mean no harm. But the truth is we are on the hit list. Just screen well and trust your gut, think twice before seeing anyone new. Just be careful.

I am willing to give anyone a reference. Honestly I don't want see anyone get hurt or have any extra shit to deal with. Fact is escorts deal with a lot shit. I really mean this.

We only stay safe from LE and the feds if we all work together!

Guys, this means you need to be willing to work with a lady to provide screening info. If you do your homework and we do ours, there’s zero reason for any reason for bad things to happen. We have to keep each other safe though. I too will give references! Even if someone doesn’t like me. I’m not going to step in the way of anyone making money or seeking companionship. I own the rights to no one. They’re coming, let’s be ready.

It's nothing new. I think the Feds is a misnomer when it's really the government. When congress couldn't get BP execs to answer questions then they try and change the law so they can cease to exist. This is why understanding what happened with BP is so important. In theory and according to how the law is worded BP is not responsible for the content posted by third party users (us). There is this very misguided belief that if advertising venues are removed the problems will solve themselves. They wont, they'll only get worse. Those in trouble will retreat into dark corners never to be found. All of us will be out of luck when it comes to safe resources and communication.

The risk we face with this is more indirect. It's not a matter of personal safety but a matter of future livelihood for everyone. That's why if this is your full time gig you have to have a contingency plan. If every ad site went up in smoke tomorrow what would you do? I know many of us would suffer and disappear. It's not a matter of screening it's a matter of paying attention to the laws that happen around us.

If BP crumbles then every site is at risk. If our biggest ad site can be destroyed then the others can and easily too. We can't let that happen. It's also important to push back on the victim and trafficked labels. We like to roll our eyes and scoff at the idea because we're not those things but this is what the people believe. These are the ideas that these proposed bills are based off of. Write letters, protest, donate to decrim orgs. Do what's within your power to make it known that this thinking is BS.

I agree wholeheartedly. The only difference I see though is that BP is public to society. It isn't just for dating, or adult things, people sell things or look for jobs on there. The other adult sites do not publicly advertise themselves, and they make it clear on their front page that it is adult related. Normal people with no interest to this would not peruse these sites, but on BP they can accidentally stumble upon it. Also, most adult sites require you to be verified or give proof of age which eliminates the human trafficking. Whenever it is brought, it is usually referenced with BP not other sites. That is a big statement right there about the difference.

Us ladies need to be careful on social media sites too. Human trafficking is happening through there as well, and they will quickly become targets so while they can be great places to talk, and get to know each other...it still does not make for good verification material when setting up appointments.

The overlooked problem with the way they punished CL and are going after BP is that it threatens Internet content in general. One of the principles of the open Internet has been that hosts are not responsible for 3rd party content. The next step after BP is to go after Comcast etc. for carrying the traffic. Or to go after Google for providing links.

This is not just a problem for escorts, but for any questionable organization and a threat to free speech in general.
