Ok so many of yall know I posted about my plans way before the damn hurricanes.

Well, I finally talked to my team about plans and I said "Can I think about it"!!!!! OMG! I am such a punk LOL.

I just do not want to live in a place that has to rebuild.(I did that in Houston Through 2 Floods! It was so hard Trust me. ) I still count on escort work to help me carry bills and  I am so tripping that I will fail in my work and There will be no extra "work" to help out !! I will have no nearby family, friends. No help, no venting system!

I have 30% of family here, I grew up here and have a great standing family name in my community. . I can go forward here as well but I need to continue my education 3 more years!!

And I just told My best move forward " Can I think about it!!!!" seriously!?!

What if they choose another applicant??

I want to hear"Its ok Chrissy you got this"

"Its ok Girl, You will branch out where over you end up"

But in reality Will it?

Keep it real yall.

Did I mess up?

Damn, damn, damn

It's still pretty impossible to predict the future.  You can only make an imperfect decision based on incomplete data skewed by emotional feelings.

Now, in a lot of areas that were predicted to be bad, turned out not so much.  The area you'd be in, have you seen damage assessments?  In many areas they're cleaned up fairly quickly, so they can do it again next year.  That's actually what would get me, not the immediate "What's broken now" but the "In 11 months it'd be me trying to put plywood on the windows and wondering how bad the damage would be..."

Oh to be young and facing a fork in the road.  I'm sure my fellow over 50 comrades will back me up on this.  First you probably didn't blow it you explain to them that hurricanes gave trepidation and give them the flooding examples - you know how hard it is to rebuild.

Second because I'm an eternal pessimist I taught my kids this:  take the worst case scenario for the situation you are facing.  Can you live with it? If you can't, what can you live with?  Now what does it take to make that happen?  Do that.

I know it doesn't seem like it from where you stand but you have the fortune of youth on your side.  Now is when you can bounce back from a mistake, work all day and all night, sleep on the floor, etc.

my long winded way of saying:  follow your heart

now if you'll excuse me I have a burning man trip to plan...

I think you did what your gut was telling you ... And also left it open ended, so there is no definite yes or no right now. I think there will be a sign that solidifies whether you should go or not, and you really do need time to wait for that sign 😉.  I think you made the right choice 😘

There are a few other former TOB members that recently moved to Florida, one sent an email saying she is coming back to Colorado. As of this evenings news,Florida still has millions of people without electricity.Food has spoiled, they are out of gasoline and having problems getting fresh food to the people ( bridges and highways washed out ). Tampa Bay has had over 75 % of its buildings either destroyed or heavily damaged. Some cities only 25%.

Don't know where in Florida they want to send you,but go with your gut.

Hi Chrissy,

You sound like you have thought things through quite a bit so I would just say feel confident in your decision but make it and move forward.  Ambivalence creates conflict. 🙂

As Laci said, find your quiet place and think.

You never know where life is going to take you.  There will be many twists and turns over the course of your life. Some good, some bad.

You can only make a decision based on how you feel today.

Thank you all. I guess what's really best for me is to wait it out and see. My original plan was to go After Turkey day since my last Classes here end then, but with everything still damaged, and what Wolfe pointed out & my own research, I may have to reconsider ,or not ?¿?

Rebuilding is tough on more than the body. As said before, the last time I made a "Whim" Career Jump, I  ended up in Houston for 4 years and hated it!

All of you here offer such useful honest advice that actually makes sense . Thank You!!

Florida is the past, Denver the future.

Keep yourself a mile high

And abstain from the lectures.

They said, "Colorado rockies is the space you outta be!"

So she stayed her fine ass put and lived happily ever after.

With so much of Florida suddenly unemployed...if you plan on still being a part time escort...is there any flush money left to spend on you ?? Looking at the ariel footage,it appears like money is going to be spent on rebuilding, not entertainment. Just my 2 cents.

Gut instinct is always best. You're  sensing something so pay attention to your feelings. Besides, it gives some us a chance to meet you that already haven't if you'll be around a little longer. Like ME.

On the other hand, it's lots of insurance companies, paying thousands of contractors good money, a lot of whom are actually from other states and simply travel to where the work is.

of course there is the deductible that still needs to be paid out.lot of businesses have been temporarily closed or totally destroyed.rebuilding will not be overnight.

And probably tough for ASPs. I liken it to the fracking industry in the Dakotas. So many people ran there with $$$ visions in their heads, but reality smacked them hard re: no place to live. People in tents, RVs. ASPs probably can make money, but won't be easy. Guessing will be tough for a provider to find a place to bunk down, even if not doing incalls. And guessing hotel rates will be going up to capitalize on the influx of contractors to work the construction jobs.

Chrissy I haven't had the honor of meeting you yet, but I feel with all that has happened in Florida, maybe it's a sign that you should stay here awhile and maybe it's for a reason because something will open up here that could be life changing for you! Don't stress too much over it because most of the time things work themselves in ways we never see coming! Wish you the best!

since I am in the mood for giving free advice for what it is worth my opinion is to not go at this time if you are planning on doing side work to get you by.  I have recently seen some of the disaster personally and it will take some time for things to get back to any semblance of normalacy.  Yes there will be a lot of temp. workers there but is that what you want.  It will be a struggle just living there with the shortage and high price of anything.  There are other places to go so I do not know why you would settle on just one place in light of what has happened. Your 3 years left to go may turn into 6.  Just another point of view.

Follow your spidey sense it is hardly ever wrong.  I have made some decisions based on this sense and most but not all have turned out good but the ones that did not turn out so good eventually did not really matter as other things worked out. Good luck but you are the only one who can make that decision.

Definitely a dilemma, with balancing family and friends with a new career pathways and opportunities.  But, it looks like you a staying for a now, and it is obvious you have a good head on your shoulders from how you write and convey yourself, so you will make it work out just fine either way.  I find it helps to have a trusted family member to listen and hear you out and you think it through.  I have to write it down benefits/advantages and let it fester for a while.

My life has had a lot of twists and turns, most I never expected but have been meaningful. How did I end up in Iowa for 8 years.....that WAS NOT on my radar. Nor was retiring at 62 and moving to Laramie. But in all, it has worked. When I find myself confused at roadblocks and turns of life that confuse me, I always repeat the lines from an old Stones song in my head............

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

I left Florida years ago and do not regret leaving for one minute. My former home is GONE. Flooded by the St. John's River. Temps in the 90's. Humidity in the 90% on a good day.  Now imagine you are there trying to recover your life with no air conditioning with the heat index in the triple digits. Denver may not be perfect but it is a damn site better than Florida. Unless you have lived there, you have no idea how hot it is.

A buddy of mine posted this today:

Quote

For those of you who don't know, for the last few days I've been working at a FEMA relief operation in Orlando.
This area is essentially being used as a staging area for desperately needed supplies and equipment all over the south of the state.

Hand to God, if I was trying to design an operation with the express and exclusive intent to waste as much money as possible, I don't think I could do a better job of it than they are doing here.

Hundreds and hundreds of generators, light towers, industrial-grade water pumps, heavy-duty forklifts, industrial-sized fans, and dozens and dozens of trucks to haul them around, all parked and sitting.

Every truck is idling. Dozens of fuel tankers come here every day, just to feed this fleet of trucks, which goes nowhere.

56 flat beds are currently parked and idling at this location alone. 5 of them have actually made deliveries today.

Based on cost of equipment rentals, equipment purchases, employee salaries, fuel, catered food, hotel rooms for every single employee here (about 300 of us), and 500 other logistical problems that go into sustaining an operation like this, I would quite frankly be astonished if the cost associated with this one small operation was less than five million dollars a day.

The next time you hear somebody talking about a desperate and compelling need for the federal government to act, remember this example.

Massive flooding, millions of trees down, power loss across an entire state, people without access to food, shelter, or fresh water; and the feds have still managed to hoard and stockpile all of the supplies and equipment that is so desperately needed elsewhere, and make sure absolutely none of it gets to the people who need it in a timely manner.

Remember that the next time you talk about single-payer healthcare, or the Department of Education, or any one of literal billions of other Federal programs which serve only to drain the taxpayers dry, because until you have personally witnessed the absolutely staggering and appalling waste inherent to every single federal effort, you cannot even begin to comprehend the significance of what you're proposing.

Edit to add:
Many of you seem to think that this is somehow an isolated incident, due to poor management on behalf of one or two people.
Show this story to literally any military veteran you know, and they won't even raise an eyebrow. This is and they won't even raise an eyebrow. This is simply how the federal government works.
Stories like this are not the exception. They are the rule.

Wow!! My dad and brother are in Texas so I had been updated in detail there, but knowing The Fla situation in detail is just scary! I am starting to settle in with the feeling that I made a  decent "for now" decision , but I don't wanna be ungrateful either with all that the East coast is enduring .. Not out of guilt but need , I hAve cleared out Two clothes Closets, tons of shoes, coats and blankets and sent them to a popular Provider friend in Dallas that is trying to help out as well.

But Still doesn't help the feeling like I jumped ship when shit hit the fan tho :(

I know I made the right decision.  Thanks to all that commented and advised.

I lot  the T0B-ERS we have  here!!

Laci is right meditation works wonders. Offer up an intention to the universe/God/higherself and just ask for the answer to come to you. Now some times those answers are not always quick. However, you will find that you will always receive an answer when you keep your intentions clear and simple. I know I always do. Crazy some times when I least expect an answer it happens out of the blue. Like the V8 commercial it will hit you! I also think Kuduk has sound advise for you too. Contacting another reputable provider from down that way is always helpful!

Best of luck to you Chrissy!
