I got a text

31 posts in this topic

I got a text on my cell phone this morning that simply read "Goodmorning (my first name)".  I was from a Denver number, I'm in Colorado Springs.  I didn't think anything of it. Twenty one minutes later I got another text from the same number saying "Hi Love." This one got my attention so I googled the number.  Turns is it belongs to an established yl on this board with over 30 reviews.  Now this lady is not someone who has ever been on my radar and not someone who I've ever contacted or given my name or number to. I'm not sure how she got my name and my number and why she would text me out of the blue with these two messages.  There have been no more texts and I've not replied. My only assumption is that someone in the hobby who knows my name and my cell phone number game them to this lady and she was hoping I would reply and possibly schedule something with her.  Is there a more logical explaination I'm overlooking?  I've had ladies in the past that I've contacted, contact me out of the blue. I've had ladies that I don't know send my unsolicatated messages on this board, but I've never had anyone that I don't know contact me with my name and cell phone number.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what, if anything, I should do about this, and if this has happened to anyone else?

That is bizarre. I don't see why it'd hurt to send her a message and ask how she got your info. I'm sure as hell curious to know. I've never shared client info like that with another provider, and I've had provider friends a plenty over the years. This is just weird.

Agree with Jos. You need to find out what provider is leaking your info and shut that shit down quick!

Someone with 30+ reviews knows better than to randomly solicit for business. SMDH

Take a minute to look over the list of ladies you've seen, might be a link to the one that texted you.

There is another possibilty. Don't want to go into detail and give anyone ideas but phone number spoofing - faked caller id - if her number publicly posted. In other words not her.

My instinct was to ignore the contact and hope it goes away. So far it has.  Maybe I will either call or text back and ask her where she got my name and number.  But I doubt she would tell me.  I don't hobby a lot in Denver, but I have enough that it would be tough for me to narrow down the list too much.

If you are going to contact her and ask i suggest thru pm here or thru her website if has one etc. But NOT a direct reply to "her" text - see earlier post

I had a similar text from an out-of-town escort number (someone I've never met), earlier this week. I suspect it's a former escort, or former agency employee, spoofing numbers, and fishing for laughs.

I ignored it; no further texts since then.

There could be a million things going on , someone stole a phone, someone lost a phone, someone dialed a number just 1 digit off, etc.etc.  I think gr8owl has a good suggestion to contact her in another manner.  It would be interesting for you and pfunk to compare notes to see if somehow you have a provider in common and somehow her phone was compromised and someone is just going down the list...Ignoring it is probably a safe way to handle it.  Let this be a learning experience, I know passwords are a major pain, but set one up on your phone.  That way if you do lose it, or if someone steals it, they can't just get on it and see all your stuff.  Also LE can't make you unlock your phone (the last I knew).  At the very least it pisses off the person that stole it because they have to wipe it to do something with it.

I think one Denver provider recently lost her phone in the last couple days?

Or just block the number. It's weird for sure but it doesn't do any good to worry at this point. And if you're not going to reach out to her then block it and keep it moving.

I hope people don't leak others info. I got a disturbing message this week. Be careful y'all. And don't share others info. There's a reason we don't post it everywhere.

That's the truth. Crazy and/or unprofessional is across both sexes. Sorry that happened Mustang, and I hope it's isolated.😒

Thanks for all the input. The lady in question has not logged onto this site in over a year and has not posted an ad in over a year, but she did receive her latest review about 3 months ago.  I believe she had an association with an agency at one point.  Because of this I think it is unlikely she would respond to a PM thru this site. I also don't think it was a accidental dial or a mistake because there were two texts and she addressed me by my first name. I think it is more likely that someone shared my information with her, possibly as part of a list. I can't think why just my information would be a hot commodity, so I don't think it's a stalker situation. It's been almost 24 hours and she has not contacted me again, and I think it's unlikely she will at this point. It's a little concerning but hopefully a dead issue at this point.  I would be curious if others do receive similar contact.

I think the most logical explanation is she's a provider you contacted once upon a time. Didn't book or whatever. Was so long ago you forgot. Now she's slow and looking for business.

There's 2 traveling providers who text me when they're in town. I've got a few random texts from girls I didn't book in town. I use a text ap though, and am unattached. So it's not an issue to me. If I were attached, I could just uninstall the ap when I didn't need it. Minimal trace for an SO to look for.

That's desperate and a red flag.

I'm getting old, but not that old. I've never contacted this lady or given her my personal information. I agree with her, or someone, being slow and looking for business, but she got my information from another source.  We're all aware that our information, name, email address, phone number, etc. is sold and traded around the web all the time. My guess is this is something like that, just more small, local, and much more targeted. But, of course, if other aren't getting contact in a similar fashion, I could be wrong.  Either way, I think ignoring the contact is the best way to go.

I mean a lot of things are possible. I'd prefer to stick to answer that are probable. Occam's razor and whatnot.

When Angela Aspen was running her "agency" I would get texts two to three times a week, letting me know that various girls were running "specials" just for me.  Actually was kinda nice, kinda like a Groupon, took advantage of it a few times (but not with the queen-bee herself).

I think I figured it out with the help of another member. Apparently the lady who texted me is involved in an agency.  I contacted another lady who is in the same agancy this past spring. Each lady uses their own number. We weren't able to schedle and I've never seen anyone in that agancy, but the lady I contacted would have had my information. Apparently they compile and share that information within the agency and their marketing plan involves texting people on the list in the hopes they book.  So far ignoring the texts has worked.  Thanks for everyone's input.

I don't think this would be possible because providers delete all personal information as soon as the session is over.

But wait! How could they ever give a reference? (off topic :P)

That's some BULLSHIT right there. What the agency did I mean. That's fucked up.

I use to love that, I did see her once when she herself was on special.  I actually love to read her newer articles about being reformed and against the industry, and then day dream back to that day when she was on her knees and practically inhaling my...well, nevermind.  You get the point...sorta funny now.

I'm always happy to receive an email or text from a provider.

Often my schedule gets on overload and it nice to get a reminder to do something for me.

This has happened to me twice in the past year or so, and from the same "provider" and number. If you search "Ana" in the 411 forum, you will find my post on this matter. Both times, "Ana" claimed to know me well and was very familiar and casual with how to communicate with me. When I made clear that I did not know her, she texted pics of a very attractive YL to refresh my memory. Still didn't know her, and that is something I don't forget. She wanted to get together for a session in Lakewood, and that is when I ceased responding. I have only ever been familiar with one provider in Lakewood, and she disappeared around the same time that the first call from "Ana" came. I won't make any assumptions for you, but take from my story what you will.
