I am Curious Yellow…

28 posts in this topic

...What are the main lines of engagement for Denver, used by the Gents of TOB. My 1st endeavor with TOB was Nov. 2015. I didn’t even know it existed until meeting one of the Ladies I actually met thru P411 and posted her 1st review on TER. I started 1st on TER, led me to P411, she led me to TOB, and that led me to ECCIE…

…I use TOB 1st for my regulars and browse P411 for visitors, and P411 to use as part of my screening information. I do have 3 white lists, one recent on TER but rarely use them. I don’t often use TOB for screening purposes either, but use both TER and TOB for reviewing, and being an ass on TOB with some of my posts. While I’m a member of ECCIE, I don’t frequent there, have never contacted a Lady there, and just submitted my 1st review there. I’ve never posted or replied to anything there. I have increased my membership there so I am FINALLY learning how to maneuver that site. For travelling I again rely on P411 and TER. I just switch the city of choice and follow the path of Due Diligence. I have yet to use ECCIE for travelling. In Denver as I now parous ECCIE, I simply find a lot of visitors do use it, but they don’t seem to get many replies, unless it’s done like here in PM’s…

…How many use ECCIE…Curious Yellow was one of the 1st adult theater movies, my hornster rents were I bet the 1st in line LOL…that explains me!

When I first started playing, the internet didn't exist.  I had to rely on jackshacks, newspapers and the such and driving past an AMP for here in Denver and when on the road.

Eventually the internet came around and I discovered SOWET.  And from SOWET I quickly discovered TOB, TER and P411.  Eventually I used the internet to look for boards that were local to the area I was going to be in.  I did discover ECCIE from such research.

I finally discovered ECCIE while in Texas on a biz trip.  In Texas, ECCIE is the board to use.  However outside of Texas, the presence is minimal in places so I always look for the local boards.

I don't use ECCIE for Denver or Colorado.  I am a member and have posted reviews in the past just so I could reviews. While there are a few ladies that are on TOB that are also on ECCIE, there are way more ladies on TOB.

I feel for the Texas (or other states) visiting men who post ISO's on ECCIE here in Denver.  They may or may not get a reply from one of the ladies that post there.  The same goes for the ladies that are visiting and only know about ECCIE.  They may or may get a reply from one of the guys here in Denver.

TOB is definitely the most used board here in Denver and I would guess the preferred board.

So after a long rambling reply, I rely on TOB in Denver.  ECCIE just doesn't have the presence in Denver to be the "go to" place.

I stick to this board, for the most part. I'll look at Backpage for girls I know, who don't post here. I prefer local girls. I only review here. I used to review elsewhere too, but it's more of a PIA than it's worth.

I prefer FBSM so I use backpage massage section and research providers here on TOB. Use caution when choosing BP girls

Newsgroup.alt... -> Decadent City -> SoWet -> TOB -> P411. There are a few other stray boards (Heaven or He'll, Bear's Board, one for BC).  Found ASPD when in TX, which led to ECCIE.

I use ECCIE when in TX, TOB in Denver, TNA in PHX, and P411 or BP elsewhere.  BP requires the most work; P411 the least.

I've been chasing ASP's since the mid to late 80's. I've run the gamut from crack whores to courtesans, street walkers to the very Temple of Aphrodite itself. I've had relationships related to this arena, both inside and out. I've given personal info to get an appointment, and gone completely anonymously. I followed a girl(invited) through a warren of cribs in almost complete darkness where the chances of getting my dick wet were about equal with getting my throat cut, and I've been to the "cattle call" at brothels with transparent plastic slip covers on the furniture in the front room. I've called from/to cell phones, landlines, pay phones & pagers. I vaguely remember having a gal wave a box cutter in my general direction, and one that did MSOG because "you're cute, & the first one was so fast!" I've done overnights, breakfast/lunch/dinner dates, and blow jobs in an alley. I've been to jack shacks(Dreamhouse?), AMP's, and non pro masseuses. I've experienced every?(nose? belly button? left ear?) orfice and fucked in positions that I know I'm no longer even capable of.

I only venture out infrequently now; my references are retired or stale, so I occasionally use BP.

When I used to come to Denver years ago I used the local rag The Oyster to find my way. Anyone remember that one?

Kinda..sorta :)     It went out of business when the owner died without a will or business plan for it to continue. Had plenty of $$$ in the bank. :(

I know I am in the minority here but I post mainly on ECCIE, even for Denver.  I find it much more informative.  For reasons that old-timers know this board has always been tight-lipped and more of a social club.

Nothing against those who love TOB, but I much prefer using ECCIE, TER, and P411 and like to save my funds for when I travel to Dallas, DC, NYC, or NOLA.  Perhaps I was spoiled by my earlier days in DC and Dallas but in comparison I find the hobby scene here to be rather lacking.

I have used ECCIE on occasions, lol. A lot of visiting ladies post there, not realizing that tob is the Denver and Colorado board.

Never heard of TOB until the first Denver Sex Show convention downtown. Ran into a model there that was also an escort. She came by the studio about two weeks later and talked me into joining TOB. Haven't heard of  the others you are talking about until lurking here. Never joined them. Like being on TOB as I've found some old friends here and made some new ones.

Care to elaborate on that? I too think the scene is lacking in Colorado but maybe for different reasons. Do areas with local boards like TOB hinder the business? It's always good for providers to know where clients are looking and why.

What I've found myself is that TOB is more... personal?  Lots more varied topics about other things that interest us, and is a tighter group of people because of course, being locals, we kind of are.

Where Eccie, the forums on TER, etc., tend to be more focused on the hobby itself so it's a different style and focus.  Both are good in their own ways.  For me, I prefer the TOB style because I like things to be more personal.  As someone mentioned the other day, I'm one that prefers the eye contact...

While I can't speak about TER, ASPD (now ECCIE) always had 'the sand box' where non-hobby topic were discussed. This was something that TOB lacked. T.O. was not interested in moderating such a loose forum with its potential to fall off the rails.

I'm glad this version of TOB has opened up to other areas of interest like local entertainment & food w/o falling into more volatile subjects. It does make for a more personable community.

TOB always has been and always will be my #1 source for advertising. P411 second once sowet went to amps. Never joined Bearsboard, Tried Eccie, too convaluded and hard to navigate, not to mention that I never got any business. TOB was 6mos old when I found it. There were maybe 30 girls between Denver and Springs on the site. Girls made money hand over fist. Ah, the good ol days.

When I got a divorce a few years ago and ran out of extra houses to give away -  I tried to approach this methodically.  I used TER and TOB to lurk and learn and ask a few questions.  Extremely helpful people in both forums but I didn't like TER's demands for writing reviews.  I let my membership lapse and just use TOB and P411 now.  I did get linked to some Eccie reviews that I remember were somewhat helpful but I seem to remember a lot of popups and it not being near as straight forward and user friendly as TOB.

Not really.  Anything I say will only end up pissing off at least half the board.

In the end I'm not sure what the root cause might be.  TOB can be pretty hostile to outsiders.  But it also solidifies the local hobby community.  There's good and bad I guess.

Nonetheless after all these years I still enjoy my experiences in other cities and on other boards more than I do so here.

Ah yes, I use uBlock and NoScript to remove all that but indeed ECCIE is otherwise bloated with popups and ads. The mobile interface (m.eccie.net) is your friend.

However in terms of TOB being straight forward and user friendly I am not sure what universe you are in.  The TOB reviews are vague and ambiguous.  They are useful for nothing more than verifying that a provider is legit and usually reliable.

Have a hobby related question?  Don't bother asking!  Because if you do and don't tone it down to the point of being useless you'll get flamed off the board.

Want to clarify details with a provider?  Don't send a PM!  Because apparently those aren't secure and all expectations are supposedly covered in the reviews.  The ones that say nothing other than "FS - She was great, not going to go into the details because I don't kiss and tell be she is a gem!".

Unless there is an entire section of this site that I have missed or a massive backchannel network to which I am not invited I can't believe that anyone could even call TOB straight forward or user friendly.

I would say that TOB is fairly user friendly because, while we may get into some serious disagreements, they seldom devolve into flame wars and grade school name calling. Compared to the comment sections of Fox or the Denver Post (prior to Civil Comments) this is the Governor's Ball.

I cant find fault in what your saying here and am not able to send any fire your way Long Time.  I love the fact that you can side step a lot of the flame bullshit by using The Dude and "Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."   Great move!    It does seem like some here are just looking to pounce but I still think there is good info here as well - it is just sometimes between the lines and the member roasts.  I got some great info from the TER forums but just didn't like the ... sort of reverse censorship.  They needed "juicy details" in detail to publish reviews.

I actually do use 411 and TOB for exactly as you stated above - "verifying that a provider is legit and usually reliable."  And sometimes just passing the time.

TOB is my go to board. I use P411, TER and ECCIE as well...

TOB has a more intimate feel. We're all just one big happy dysfunctional family.😘

Started out with the back pages of Westword and through a provider discovered TOB, which seemed to be just getting started at the time. Used it primarily for posts and research until P411 came along. Now both sites are used in tandem. Utilize Eccie when there's a link, especially for snapshot reviews, but never figured out how to fully navigate their site (Neanderthal Nerd) . TER is favored when traveling in territories not strongly represented by 411. Craigslist (no longer) and Backpage (almost no longer) overall are mine fields and jokes for any serious hobbyist (IMO), but have found gems through deep research. Used SoWet during my AMP days, but drifted away about the same time the site did. For posting reviews, TOB is favored. TER is too difficult to meet their standards and, as mentioned, and can't navigate Eccie. TOB's format is more user friendly. For research, like Eccie because it's short and to the point, but TOB is still 'go-to' site. Trick is to find reviewers who share your taste and keep their 'experiences' brief. Bottom line is, hobbying is like that box of chocolates the Gumpster always talked about. Part of the exhilaration, actually.

K I've even put on the headphones, I've re-read my post, I'm gonna have to revisit this a few more times. I'll admit I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box, but I might need some help on this one. Let's see if I'm up to the task. Hmmmmm.
