I used to get so scared that those doors would never open again! Talk about praying for a gapping void! 😰😂

Other than my office I have to watch an old tv show to hear a real phone ring. Awe nostalgic thoughts!

I actually saw a working phone on a pole in West Virginia. I took a picture to show my kids what one was. 😂

Gah... used to have a payphone in my basement growing up.  But it was in one of those fantastic old fully enclosed wood and glass booths.

Looked like this

Life was far more simple before cellphones.

Gosh ain't that the truth! I used a payphone a couple years ago. It was fifty cents. I remember growing up it was only 10 cents.

I left my cell phone at home the other day. Fear and panic spread for a second. Then I realized the freedom of not having one. Mostly I was mad because I couldn't take pictures of my dog at the dog park.

Think I saw a pay phone at the King Soopers gas station I was at today.

Last pay phone I used must have been around the '95-98 timeframe, Vegas casino, Rio if I recall correctly. And not for the reason you all are thinking... Perverts.

Which comes around to: what are the calling rates to/from hotel room phones these days. Have not looked at that pricing sheet in years. And in this day and age, seems like every motel has free wifi, yet the fanciest hotels still charge a boat load for wifi <seinfeldvoice>what's the deal with that?!</seinfeldvoice> (I know, paying those rates, what's another $20/day to blindly pay).

Nostalgia. The last actual phone booth I remember using was in a Missouri bar that long since burned down. Melissa is right tho. You could make a call for 10 cents. Or tape over the hole in a certain dime-sized brass washer to make a call. I kept a couple of those washers in an old cigar box, just to remind me of how broke I could be back then!

About the last time I changed the TV without a remite or played my first ATARI game.
