Heads Up Boys!

16 posts in this topic

I just had a client call me asking me if I knew anything about a text he got.

Supposedly, he got a text from a local number that leads back to a guy that ask if you want a "massage". When he replied, the guy sent him a pic of a lady, and asked what time for an outcall. She does look familiar, but I can't place her. This is from someone he has never contacted before, and he thinks that somehow browsing BP, TOB, or other adult sites that they got his number and now are texting him to drum up some business.

This could be troublesome for guys using personal phones, or guys that just don't need some drama because it sure sounds problematic to me. If you want info, just PM. Be safe out there!

Browsing should not pick up somebody's phone. Browsing and replying to an ad, definitely. Especially if one replies to an ad with a too-good-to-be-true photo, no review history, etc. Been seeing some ads of this ilk of late. Some have not had any phone, just e-mail replies. Others, do have number, but request "text only".

I did reply to one of the e-mail response ads, where I got back a really steep rate for a massage and some TGTBT pics. Was not going to pull the trigger on that, and got a nasty little note later on along the lines of "if I don't hear back from you, I guess you are just a cheap so and so, and assume you don't want to see me". That'll really seal the deal and get me to come over. ^_^

Imagining there is some boiler room operation sending random girls to suckers, ala Vegas agencies, and will keep spamming your number at every hour asking "want me, Bambi, to come over"? Or boiler room looking to pull the pre-paid card scam.

If replying by mail, I have my burner e-mail and won't have a phone in it unless I get an OK feeling and ready to book. Definitely only use burner numbers for appointments. To minimize impact in the OP scenario.

The strange thing is he doesn't click on other girls ad...in fact, he told me it has been months since he has looked because I am the only one he sees so that is why he called me to see why he would be getting this kind of thing. I am curious as to how they got his number and why they are texting.

The problem I see is that no matter how innocent the situation, some girls can go bat shit crazy if they saw this show up on their man's phone no matter the reason. Being careful with your personal phone should be on the fore front especially if you are wanting to even look at adult content just in case, it does seem to be harmless.

I do believe that keeping track of someone is easier than people think. You would be amazed at how much I know about clients just with one click within seconds, and that is alarming to me because people live in denial of it. Internet tracks everything.

Contrary to what those pushing the false illusion of security want you to believe, hacking and tracking your phone is very easy. He did not need to click on anything. His number and data could have been harvested at any site he visited.

Being a fan of the simplest explanation - he did call or text some lady in the past who kept his number and who passed it on to this "agent" or is working for him or did.  If he is getting that type text he needs to burn the burner or if real life phone, change the number and get a burner.

Completely agree with this

Or just block the number and email address. iPhones have that feature built into the OS. I think Android does as well but there are a few catches if you aren't using the native app. And gmail lets you do it from a browser.

If the concern then turns to "they know who he is" then there's not a whole lot left he can do even if he got a burner...I swear there are some people who should not be participating in this "hobby."

Not good. Guys, remember if the wife finds anything, deny, deny, deny! Clear all cache etc from phones, computers etc.

If I were a guy and got a call like this, I'd actually tell my wife. Something along the lines of....

Wife: how was your day?

You: good, except I keep getting weird text messages asking to get a massage. I keep telling them they have the wrong number.

Saves you from getting busted with the wife later. A little truth in the lie.

To which I might add...." I don't even LIKE massages.....except maybe that "happy ending" thing they talk about on TV...wink, laugh"  I think wifey would become juuust insecure enough that before days end...."Oui Oui!

Well as far as him only seeing you! That's not true! People say anything! He has to have his number somewhere for people to get...Numbers just don't pop up on people phones!

P.s.Burners make things really hard for us ladies if there is no references to go along ...

And actually let me say this THAT GENTLEMAN DID KNOW THE LADY ASKING FOR A REFERENCE...It was a long time ago but HE DID COMMUNICATE WITH HER...

Don't take this the wrong way but there is also the possibility he isn't being totally honest with you. Maybe you might be the only one he sees but I am pretty sure they all look and it's possible that he contacted someone and put his number out there. Kinda like how people lie about viruses they get from porn sites. It's pretty hard to get a phone number for a rando that coincidentally enough is also a john.

That is true, but I don't think so because he didn't have to call me and ask my advice about it. Also, a while ago he did ask for a reference(which I gave cause I don't care who they see and my clients know this) and after seeing her, he told me that it wasn't that great and that he would stay with what he knows. I told him  that he do what he feels comfortable with, and that if he ever needed another reference I was more than happy to oblige. The other thing is he is single and he was literally confused with why he got it, and the number and the girl he has never seen before. I did ask him if he had put his number anywhere that it might have been publicly seen, and he is not aware he did.

My main motive was to warn that this is happening because I have the info proving it, and for guys to start being more diligent about protecting themselves if they want to hobby and have a lot to lose. We can never be too careful! I see it happen time and time again because I think we get comfortable, and believe it really can't happen to us when it, in fact, does all the time.

My client and I had a good laugh over it, and I even teased him that he should "TOFTT". ;)
