I slew The Dragon today

Twice!!

For those of you not familiar with motorcycle lore, the Tail of the Dragon is an 11 mile stretch of TN129, ending on the border at Deals Gap, NC, which contains 318 curves. Skiers, think double black diamond w/moguls. Sure, a couple of knuckle(knee) dragging crotch rockets passed my cruiser, trying to do a 1/2hr ride in 10-15 minutes. I hear that Darwin frequently selects a few. I had so much fun I had to go back the way I came, doing it again  😄

To add to my pleasure was Foothills Parkway, which runs a ridge on the NW edge of Smokey Mountain NP. Skiers, think blue cruiser slopes.

Oh, this board is about adult entertainment. Well, the ear-to-ear grin is still plastered on my face 10 hrs later.

That's "Stroking the Turtle" not "Slaying the Dragon"...

Dude, that is freaking AWESOME! Not too many people from around here get to have bragging rights on the Tail....

My group of riders like to call young men on "plastic bikes" "Future organ doners" has a nice ring to it, yes?

I'm glad you had the chance to do the ride, very cool indeed!

And for the "viewers" that don't get motorcycles, that right there was better than sex! (OK most sex!)

I rode my bicycle from 55th and Federal to Grand Lake one day. Actually trained for a couple of years. Not quite like the Dragon, but still a feat. Put that bicycle in my buddies trunk, and haven't ridden since.

Get back on that bicycle, dude.  My rehab goal after the 3*bypass was Pedal the Plains. My longest ride? San Diego -> St. Augustine (celebrated 60 in Louisiana).

There were several bicycles on the Foothills Parkway, but none on The Dragon (too dangerous, no shoulders).

He is bragging, and by the sounds of it it was better than jerking off. I know when i drove a Lamborghini on c470 going 120mph I got wet. Same thing. Good on you Bit! Now get that cute butt back to CO.

Working on that. Briefly in June, but I plan to stay in CO for Jul & Aug. Not sure I'll have enough time for all the YL on my list 😄

Naw. His chicken died a long time ago. He did tell me he takes a Viagra every night. It keeps him from rolling out of bed.  :/

I didn't see any, but then again I was focused on The Road. There are about 5 photo tents and one trooper along the route.  I did have a pitter-pat moment when I let my attention wander to the first photo tent. They're all set up on curves.  After that I concentrated on what I was doing, i.e. prepping for that next curve.

If you do the math there are, on average, two(2) curves between every set of back-to-back goal posts, or about every 60yds.

Actually, FDR killed the chicken when he put one in every pot. The problem was that most people didn't have a pot to piss in. ☹️

That Viagra really did cure those morning headaches. 😎

Party on dude - you are doing us proud (and here I thought that 70 mph over Berthoud Pass on my V-65 was cool).

You should try Going to Sun road (Glacier NP, MT).  It only has one(1) switchback.

The Dragon's Tail sound fun.  A couple years ago I rode US 60 in AZ from Phoenix to Show Low.  Just inside Ft Apache Reservation is a nice set of switchbacks.  You don't get to do much sight seeing on roads like that!

A somewhat closer route is where you take 152 from I-25 to Silver City New Mexico.  That was a bit scary even in a car last time I went with all the hairpins, but the view is incredible.

It was 10x worse on the way back but for other emergency medical reasons.

I've done PHX->Show Low in a convertible.  The stretch to Globe on both a bicycle & a scoot.

Silver City->I-25 I did on a bicycle. The reverse in my truck w/26' trailer. There's a B&B in Kingston, NM that's quite special. The owner is into hay bail & cob construction.

I just want to say that THAT WAS NOT ME!!!

On the 3 Sisters in the TX Hill Country they have signs announcing how many riders were lost last year. I was surprised to not see similar signs on The Dragon.
